Still in pain

Oh, and initially, during our early conversation, Pfizer attorney told me BEFORE I HAD AN ATTORNEY "well, we have reviewed your case and determined that we will pay for you to have physical therapy for the shoulder". "All you have to do is call us with an amount, for example, if you tell us it is $10,000 we will send you a check after you sign a waiver saying you will not ever bring any more litigation against Pfizer and release us from all damage". It wasnt until I had an attorney contact them, they decided I was on a placebo.

I'm an attorney working with several individuals who participated in the Tanezumab study, and suffered significant joint damage. I would like to speak with anyone with similar experiences from this drug trial.

Please feel free to call at my toll-free number, or email.

I have been working with an attorney in New York for many months. I had medicare at one time and so this is dragging down my claim.....really the pits as I was ready to settle and be done with this mess but it drags on unfortunately.
Debbie Gruber is trying her best to help me out but the government is 3-4 months out in responding to clear medicare from my claim as they paid for no services for me relative to the trial. When you try to call the medicare 3 rd party processer the wait times on the phone are over 45 mintues.....It is outrageous. IN the meantime I am behind on my house payments and bills....awful

My husband was in the trial since last fall and in Jan developed pain in his hip. By April it had worsened to the point of extreme loss of mobility. By early June, after some discussion with doctors etc., he was told he would need a hip replacement. We are still waiting from Pfizer for a determination.... Continually wanting additional information and making comments that he already had arthritis. Things are not going well. The study physician has been extremely helpful but can only do what Pfizer tells him..
Good luck getting Pfizer to do anything but give you more meds and stronger ones at that.

Wow! This is just what I have found. Pfizer is now trying to suggest that I already had arthritis and that ist is not their fault that my condition has worsened. I have fought arthritis since I was in my late thirties, I am now sixty. Since I was stupid enough to get into the study for Pfizer, I have had such a deterioration physically that I can't even measure it. The study doctor was all for getting to the bottom of this until last week when suddenly, probably because of Pfizer, he shifted gears and is suggesting that I am now on my own, that Pfizer has no responsibility.
Well, we will see about that. I was not interested in getting in a legal battle, but if Pfizer wants to fight with me, then let's get busy! I am the wrong one for them to disregard.
Thanks for sharing your comments, I hope more people find this and are encouraged enough to fight Pfizer.
As my father used to say "The bigger they are, the harder they fall".

I was in the research program from July 2009 to August 2010. When I went in for my post office visit, I was told the the FDA pulled the product (Tanezumab). Within a month I could barely walk. My pain has been getting progressively worse. I have tried cortizone shots and several otc drugs to no avail. Never realized that there were so many of us affected by this drug. Will definitely keep close watch on these blogs now.

You are not alone. I know the exact symptoms you are going through. My trial period ended July 2010 also....bilateral knee surgery September 2010.

I was in the study during the summer of 2010. My hip was fine when I started, but by December of 2010, my hip was severely degenerated and I needed a hip replacement. My shoulders are bothering me now and MRI confirms arthritis. Did you have any luck with Phizer?

Anybody that has had luck with recovering medical expenses from Pfizer...can you respond with some insight on how you went about it? On your own, through attorney...does anyone have a contact number at Pfizer?

For those of you who have posted the past few months. READ the entire thread, most of your questions will be answered there. Some can no longer discuss. If you waited this long, legally you may too late. However it doesn't hurt to inform yourself and make a long term difference for the good of all future and past patients.

Another tip for OA pain, fluoride in water can increase symptoms as well as bone loss. Tumeric is a good alternative anti-inflammatory. Too much ibuprofen or acetaminophen, especially when not taken with at least 8 oz of water, can cause kidney failure.
