M-1 Rail streetcar system excites Detroiters, but long wait ahead for shortened stretch

As word spread along Woodward Avenue from the Wayne State University campus Friday that the M-1 Rail streetcar project is officially on track, students and workers were excited, but disappointed that the 3.3-mile stretch won't go further north, and won't be completed until 2015.

A measly 3.3 miles within the city won't affect me. It's like giving the kid something to play with in his pen. That way the kid won't be looking to escape.
