Feds may offer funding for Detroit light rail project

Federal officials weren't talking details today, but the nation's top transportation officials may bear gifts in the form of federal funding for the 3.3-mile light rail line that Detroit's business leaders hope will spur redevelopment along Woodward Avenue from downtown to the New Center, when they visit the city Monday.
