it is a shame in the u.s.a that things like this happen to the hard working people that make all the money for corporate greedy companys and are then shot in the back.why does politiians not take huge cuts in pay and benefits.the judge that ruled for patriot coal{arch and peabody} should be expelled from office. thyis is very unfair to american worker.afl-cio should call a one day stay home sick to get attention of goverment....

I work at one of patriots mine and this is all Peabody fault.they set this company up to fail. now this company wants to take everything we have worked for over the years.CONTRACT is between two parties that should be lived up to...At 54 years of age I don't have time to start over. All that I haved worked for is gone.Think about it, if the place you work for takes away what you thought you had.I hope the judge that ruled on this reads this .you put out a ruling in a 102 page report when all it took was 2 words''your screwed"

The union should not have signed and approved the transfer of peabody's retirees a few years ago when peabody started this new company. The retirees were secure with contract in hand saying peabody was responsible for them, what a shame..this didn't have to happen.
