Tell Duran and his nattering nincompoops of negativism to take a chill pill and stop the false comparasons between every disaster that makes the news and the oil in Whittier.

They are just like Jerry Brown, they lie to your face with their hand rifling your pocket.

How about Duran reveal who is really behind his fake movement, and what the real agenda of his handlers is all about? These people holding signs are simply slaves for the masters that are attempting to control politics in Whittier.

How about your group do a worthwhile project for the city? File a recall petition for Nordbak.

Duran is finally getting his wish by bringing Whittier Politics down to the level of Pico, Montebello, and god forbid the city of Bell. This has been his agenda from the beginning. He is using the oil issue and his followers to get his far left wing socialist agenda out. I feel sorry for the former intelligent Whittier citizens that have signs in their yard and are showing up to protest. You have your Jim Jones but please do not drink the kool-aid.
Even though you think you do you have no idea the details of the oil project. Pretty soon there will be a post on this site from one of Duranís followers trying to fool you in thinking they know what they are talking about. Most of the posts are cut and pasted from the Wizard himself.
To all the people that have signs and are protesting do you really know the details or are you being brainwashed? Do what most of the responsible citizens are doing. Wait for all the information and make an informed decision. Do not let the rants of a mad man and his followers do it for you.

Ole Bob since you care so much about Whittier or so it seems with your continual posts, why don't you just explain to the people what exactly and who is behind Durans real agenda. Why don't you initiate a recall for Nordbak I think you are well capable of doing so and you are quite knowledgable of the reasons as to why.

The previous two posters have enough fire of paranoia to match any hot air on the other side... But certainly, conflating the San Bruno disaster with the present Matrix plan is embarassingly farfetched. I also wonder about the concerns for 'Nature' among the plan's nearby residents. Try to find ANY native species in their ruthlessly power-tool-trimmed landscapes: Makes ya wonder.

How about some input from folks who live along Sycamore Canyon? Almost every time I hike there, the reeking old petrol-whatzit's smokestack is roaring fire out the top.

I think if these 45 enviro nazi's can cover the revenue this will bring whittier than we should listen to them, If they can't compensate the loss of revenue then go back to your hovels and find something else to whine about!!!

LA County already staked their claim in the projected $9 million, and they are ready to fight to the teeth to get their majority share of it.
Whittier will get chump change and noisy streets

How did these protesters from East Whittier get to City Hall? No doubt they drove and if they did, they are complete hypocrites.

Their anti drilling position, which could be understandable, is now anti-oil. If that is the case, then they should take their purely ideological position against oil and sell their cars immediately.

While I share concern for the Hills, and safety for our homes and neighbors, drilling has been in Whittier for over 80 years and helped Whittier grow and prosper.

If it can be done safely and benefit Whittier with millions every year, I say go for it! Just as it had been done for generations in Whittier, only now since we own the land, we will receive the royalties!

What a bunch of low class scum is running this WOW organization. Using the deaths and destruction of San Bruno as a rallying point for their media coverage. Just soooo disgusting.

Also, the Whittier News should be ashamed of running such a transparent story like this one and pretending it is legit. Isn't there an editor? Is Whittier News part of a the problem or are they just completely insincere like these yeah-whos? I know about wasting a good crisis but loss of life is out of bounds.

Who in there right mind would want to live next door to these unethical and phoney bumpkins?
