Guest commentary: Smart Meters

As a resident of Lake County, a transplant from a county that is far ahead of Lake County on the issue of PG&E's "Smart Meters" and as someone who has followed this issue closely for years, I feel compelled to request that Lake County and the cities within it consider an immediate moratorium on "Smart Meters" and pulsed microwave radiation ... why are you stupid libs putting the blame solely on pg&e. you all are not smart enough to see the big picture.obama loves pge and pge loves obama, they are a green company, you libs should love pge, they are "green"if you dont believe this look at all their advertising. and those pretty green stickers on their new trucks.you guys vote green loving politicians in year after year, smart meters are part of this. eventually they will not need a meter reading department.(job killer) but its GREEN.GE has the technology to read what appliances in your home are energy eficient and the ability to control your thermostat, couple this with smart meters and more government regulation and the very government that you so dearly loveknows evrything about you, look at obamacare and internet regulations. i thought liberals were suppose to be for (LIBERTY).NOPE. you are actually for huge ass government and big brother taking care of and watching your every move. What does this rant actually meen? you libs vote for this stuff, but when its applied to you, you are against it. this is proof that liberalism is a menatl disorder!you all love socialism if you dont have to participate in it.Deal with the damn smart meters you dumbarses

Agree with all the above comments. Are Smart meters going to be installed in Lake Co. in January (heard that on a radio show). Do we have the right to refuse the installation? I have a sign on my meter "Do not install a Smart meter". I'm guessing that would not stop them?
I don't know if it's true or not, but in other posts I have read that if you have solar PV and a grid tie agreement with the utility, they use a bidirectional meter, which is different than the smart meter. Put a 1.2KW peak system on your roof, you could go grid tied with six panels and six micro-inverters. Let the utility pay you for your generated power. If the panel/micro-inverter system works well for you, then expand it a panel and micro-inverter at a time until your energy needs are met. www.dsireusa.org

Monday night at 7:00PM, January 10th, Leslie Sheridan will be on my radio show, Hellbound Handbasket, on KPFZ 88.1 FM. You can call and ask questions about smart meters as well as wi-fi and cell phone transmissions.
I know some people are "wishing there is NO SCIENCE concerning 'radiation' of Smartmeters" but many scientists are concerned that these devices are a health time bomb, and unfortunately there is real scientific reason to be concerned, or at least open minded.
Please join Leslie and me for a discussion about this important issue.
There is a standard that is set by the FCC for the field strength of radio frequencies near biological entities, you and your kids. FCC rules and regulations 47 C.F.R. covers some of this. The FCC also has published OET bulletin No. 56 and 65 addressing radio frequency exposure. I guess you could contact your local radio communications shop and have them do a Field strength sweep of your home to see if you are above the recommended FCC exposure level from the smart meters as well as any cell phone towers, portable phones, wireless internet routers and other radio frequency transmitters in and around your home. If they are outside FCC limits, report them to the FCC.
