ex-mayor.

who cares what he says? he screwed us with a 20 mil bill for his boat.

at least Richards can pave midtown and put up a parking lot.

how about they spent all the money on the civic center plaza deck? for WHAT?
did you guys see that? do you really even care?

They will sift through the books, and lay off many of the workers, or move operations out to Arkansas. Rochester will take the screwing, you just wait and see. Rochester has people on unemployment insurance and layed off, but go to Walmart and buy anything with the Kodak name on it and you will see the "Made in China" label on it. Kodak didn;t caer, and neither will PAETEK.

On TV Richards said he only heard about it today and that he already called Duffy.

Why call Duffy??? WHo's running this city???

Plus he's going to act as if this is Duffy's project, when in fact it was him Richards that was Duffy's attorney handling it and allowed it to go forward and tax dollars spent before their was a signed contract.

Tommie siad on TV today that it deal was set up so that both parties could back out of the deal if they wanted to.
Great deal that is when only one party had to invest millions of dollars so far.
How much did Paetec lose???
I bet we paid for everything for them and then some.
Great attorney TommieBoy is.

Of course operations will be moved out of Rochester.
Why would we think otherwise? Stay in highly-taxed New York State or move to lower-taxed Arkansas? It's a no-brainer.

It didn't make any sense to begin with, a Headquarters, but the Head Guy was going to keep his office where it was, not in Rochester?
That would have sounded the alarm for me way back when.

When Paetec announced their intention to build at Midtown, that announcement was the very reason the State justified in paying to clear the center-city site of a compplex of outmoded, ASBESTOS-stuffed & hideous buildings blocking new development! No developer was going to cough up the 100 million it would cost to clean out all the asbestos & vacant, useless buildings! NOW,we will at the very least NOW have:
1)A shovel & development-ready center-city site 2)with ehanced underground parking ! that will be absolute catnip to dozens of national professional developers!!! This is a GOOD thing, with or without Paetec ! The future potential of that site is now greatly enhanced exponentially!!!

It better be, as we paid for it all and will still be paying for it. Not to mention before we got involved in this, the owners were paying the city property taxes and the stores and companies inside midtown was creating some business for downtown.

But seeing you think its still a great deal and we have soo much extra money availible, we don't we look across the street from this location, buy those building, pay for the move for all the people, and knock those buildings down too??

Gone are the days of Big Factorys in Rochester where common folk can get hired, walk in at ground level and work their way up. You know..the kinds of common folk workers who have families and buy homes and shop at the local supermarket. hardawre stores and are good for the economy.

Now you go to the stores and everything you buy is made in China. Kodak junk Chinese Cameras. If I were the Mayor of Rochester, I wouldnt allow one Kodak product to be sold in Rochester.

All the big busineese are taking advantage of overseas workers. Your government allwoed it to happen.

You speak the truth. That was the America I used to know. Now you struggle to buy anything American. Kodak sold america out. They sold Rochester out. Paetec is doing the same. They dont care. Let the people of Rochester work at Walmart... build more Walmarts... between shopping Malls, Walmarts Mcdonalds, etc, we can make a living as long as we can ship in all the things from other countries ( that we used to make ) to fill the shelves.

So it winds up being that America was turned over with handshakes when all this time we feared that it was going to be hand grenades.

If anyone wants to work hard, they will succeed.
If you want to slide by, be a "C" student, an "average" worker, you will always be just that.
"woe is me", is a lifestyle that GUARANTEES failure and demise.
my friend's neighbor, busts his ass, is 27, works 14 hrs a day landscaping; just paid off a 120K house in 3 years.
it IS possible, IF you try and NOT whine.
