Some environmentalists will always object regardless of the content of the effort. Don't let the lunatic fringe screw it up. Fast track.

Using the same logic, Lowenthal should now support offshore oil development, which statistically is even less risky than this deal. Of course Foster pumped good hard cash into his campiagns when Foster was President of Edison, so why not a little belated quid pro quo?

Suck every once of the oil out in the area and then keep doing it all over California and all over all parts of this country and quit relying on Arab oil. Its about time we started to get out our own oil. Forget the enviromentalists which are all whack jobs anyway.

Don't forget to refill the oil reservoir with water or the ground will collapse.

You still didn't get it right. The percentage of Canadian oil is still less than half of what you claimed. http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/pet_sum_snd...

Gee, I guess you're sorry I pointed out your error. I wouldn't have done it but you called the other guy an ignorant swine when the charge kinda pointed in your direction.

Another project driven by wallets instead of brains

This article paints an all too typical picture, an intense focus on dollars with all other issues reigned in to a something to consider category. Once people start treating all parts of the earth as if it where the middle of their living room the decision process will change, feasibility will consider health and the environment first, followed by fiscal feasibility.
