are you freakin' kidding me ???? an exposed gun position and one that can only cover 180 degrees ???? no fire support to the rear half of the vehicle ? oh god - i hope this is a bogus news story ! how about a roof mounted computer/camera aided unmanned turret with 360 degrees field of fire & interchangeablity of weapons ... the FLAT sides of the personnel portion of the vehicle is going to help resist IED's and shaped charges how ? come on - someone tell me which senator(s) this company has in their pocket so we can end this program before it starts !

and USA school budgets are cut to the bone, no money for books or paper...
USA has sick priorities ...more wasted money...more debt...more dorden to our kids and grandkids...we have no business in Iraq...this is bush's debacle ...he's trying to cover a terrible mistake that is ruining the USA .. USA keeps throwing good money after bad |
school budgets cut to the bone ? do the math - in most states it is not uncommon for it to cost $ 6800 a year per student or about $7.50 per hour per student (anywhere from $ 135 - 180 an hour per class room hour) and as for your belief that the US should not be fighting in the middle east ... it was a calculated effort to tie-up the radical forces bent on bringing the fight to THIS country ... you want more of 9/11 HERE ? in the years to come ... many will realize this may have brought the US another 50 years of peace on our streets ... don't be outraged about the 3500 US military deaths in (4) years of war ... be freakin' OUTRAGED about the 100,000 US citizens that died in dwi accidents here in the same period of time - be outraged that nearly 400,000 died from medical malpractice and drug mistakes - or add up all the gang / drug related violence here in this country on a day to day basis and it matches & beats that of the roadside and suicide bombings in iraq ... be outraged about that - the war against evil is one of the least important problems in this country - open your eyes ! |

The critical idea is that this vehicle is not 'flat sided.' It has a hull, like a boat, an heavily armored hull. It will discharge much of the blast from land mines to the sides, rather than up through the cab. This picture is one iteration of many configurations. If US soldiers want a rear-sweeping gun, they will have it. http://www.defensenews.com/story.php... It will not stop shaped charges. It is not a heavy tank. It acn't do much worse than AM General's HMVEE, except and unless it were the LVTP-7, the amphibious tin can that Mr. Rumsfeld forced our US Marines to patrol Iraq in. The idea of a remote turet i great. Why don't you send it to the Army acquisition facility in Warren, Mich. http://www.tacom.army.mil/main/commandgroup.h... |

Yes, it would be so much better to continue to throw good money after bad in the education arena. What part of "our school system is failing" do you not understand? More money isn't going to solve the problem. The federal government should not be involved to any degree in education. They shouldn't set a standard, they shouldn't provide funding, they shouldn't provide so-called experts and the Department of Education should be dismembered and dissolved. Let's return all education to the state and local level. Then you'd see real change. |

well, my local system doesn't have money for books and teachers are restricted as to how many copies they can make... they lack materials. There is so much wasted money... they pay "teachers" to be resource personnel, but theydo nothing, and the class room teachers go wanting for basics. A local school is being renovated for $20 mill but it remains a dump... so much waste. And next year budgets will be slashed to do debt and deficits. Bush's NCLB makes for more waste |

When can I get one, tail gaters and reckless drivers watch out. I'm gonna slap a wedged shape bumper on the back and brake check every one of you with this hunk of steel.
Whats wrong with the warthog design from Halo 3 while were at it?LOL Just kidding people, I think that we have spent enough on the war for now. Although I would think that you don't win with just the equipment you bring. Also if this thing isn't going to be ready until 2012 what good is it going to do then. I'm hoping we are out of the desert and back home then. I think it has been proven that the best war machine in the USA is its people and not the crap they role off of the assembly line. A second thought, how much off this thing will be made in china? |
