I purchased a Quad Core HP computer from Office Depot in 09 that said It had a free upgrade to window 7. I went to get my copy after it came out in I believe Oct. and was told by an Office Depot employ that I would need to do that on line, but if I was smart I would wait for a few months after the 1st of the year to make sure they had all the bugs worked out of the program. This sounded like good advise since I'm not real good with software problems. March or April I tried to download to no avail so I figured I world wait until I needed help from a pro and let him down load it for me. Wrong!!! You got it. No longer available. It seems the upgrade they give you that has no advertised time limit, SURPRISE, has a time limit. A really short one. As of 1/1/10 the upgrade is no longer available for FREE. Right again they would SELL me one. When I talked to the manager of my local store he said it was Microsoft responsibility, Wrong. Microsoft said It was up to Office Depot. I like my computer but I will never send an other dollar at Office Depot. In the past I have purchased 6 computers and furniture for my office as well as office supplies for the last how many years. I know they don't give a rip about me because I have never received a call back after the Microsoft rep said he would have the manager call me. So it is my hope that some of you will read this and make your purchases from a company that at least can be trusted to keep the promises they make their customers. Look to Staples or go to meritline.com and save yourself some money. If there is no value in buying locally, you may as well buy on line and save money. They always spell out what you get and when.

For the free upgrade to Windows 7, you were supposed to fill out some form at HP/Dell/whoever's website with your serial number. The manufacturer is the one who actually sends you the disc. Office Depot merely sells the computers. The employee who helped you was wrong, there is no need to wait to get the disc. If there WERE major bugs, it would still be on the disc and Microsoft should have an update fix for it.

Office Depot lies through their teeth despite the warranty contract is printed in Black and White!!

They DID NOT REPLACED MY PRINTER!

I purchased a Lexmark P905 Printer along with product protection plan at Office Depot Fountain Valley. On the plan, it cleared stated "WE MAY REPLACE YOUR PRODUCT WITH A NEW, REMANUFACTURED, OR A PRODUCT OF LIKE KIND AND QUALITY THAT PERFORMS TO THE FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS OF THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT"

They send me a card of $249 of which I paid for the printer but the exact same printer is now selling for $399. Office Depot refused to take the card and send me a printer.

I spoke to Jackie, the supervisor at 866-540-0013 and she said to me to do whatever I like but they wont send the printer to me.
