Sprint warns of multi-billion-dollar write off
Sprint Nextel Corp. warned investors Thursday that it would take a multi-billion-dollar write off for a portion of its deteriorating wireless business.
The company did not specify how large the non-cash accounting charge would be, but said initial assessments are that it could 'represent a substantial portion, and potentially all' of the approximately $31 billion of goodwill now included on its books, Sprint stated in documents filed early today with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
