The fire started on the third floor (not the fourth floor) I was the man interviewed in your video. Alot of the stuff that has been portrayed is 65% wrong. The buildings owner's and management did not even care to show up at the scene of the fire while many tenants questioned their judgement of not showing up. the management did not even care to answer the tenants associations phone calls to have staff come properly clean up the building. security (Forte) did an awsome job doing verticals throughout making sire that all tenants were safe and secure in their apartments. elevators for this 26 story complex are all out and no one is here to fix them when majority of tenants have to go to work and school..

also the church St. Mary's did not even try to reach out to the victims and make sure that all their church goers where fine. The Mayors office did not even reach out to their constituants and also Capt. Dwyer did not even bother showing up to one of the most horrific fires that has ever been in the lower east side

forte security lead by martin concepcion and his staff were running into apartments trying to make sure that tenants were safe risking their own lives. while others were too busy trying to take the spotlight and making sure they got camera time. meanwhile my family is suffering and forte security which is understaffed thsnks to mgt. which would not cover the pay at all of forte security at grand st. deserve. now would all the security staff that is working tonight get a raise which they so deserve. tese security guards put their lives on the line everynight and they get no recognition they deserve more recognition thsan the nypd. special thanks to jay parker banks and of course eric nagy..

Some people like to down other people without even knowing the truth. Some people may think that management didn't "care", but reality of it is, THEY DID CARE & STILL DO! They made sure to get every worker possible in there to help out. I saw how the porters, handymen and Supers were all trying to help out and clean up. Maybe we should focus on what "caused the fire" instead of what people did or didn't do. If memory serves me right YOU weren't shying away from the spotlight either. And yes I do give recognition to Forte Security, but recognition should also be given to the handymen, Supers and porters who were busting their butts also.

Who is going to take care of all the damage in the apartments,i am on the 23rd floor and within minutes my apartement was filled with black thick smoke. leaving me and my daughter to be stuck in one of the bedrooms. my apartment is filled with sutt and my sofas are destroyed. So manangement has to look into why the fire was coming through the vent at such a fast pace. it was scary. and yes the porters where doing a great job when u finally got to walk down to get out the building but i would like to get back home to cleanup

This is a slum and should be gutted anyway...The landlord is a bum and it's a wonder he didn't start it himself...Kick out the gays and renovate up to code...

true he did lose it all. and i feel very sad for him and his family. but we also have damage and worked very hard for what we have and not to have smoke damage what we have. you would be thinking the same if it happened to you. that smoke traveled so fast it was amazing. means that the building is not up to code. and i hope this never happens again.,

Camillo and his family lost everything and all you can worry about is sut and sofas? Come on. Be happy you are alive and have a place to call home. He and his family don't have a home anymore. Management is terrible as is the security. The porters, super and handymen do a fine job everyday not just in this instance.

In my opinion, I think it would be nice if all the tenants including myself would get together and make a collection for the family that lost everything. Yes my apartment has some damage and I recently refurnished my whole apartment so I will deal with management, but we all should thank God that we didn't lose our families. If that fire would have started while we were asleep, there would have been more tragedies. This is the time to get together as neighbors. Most of us have been living at 460 for many years, we are like family.

My granmother who was in the building passed away this Saturday on 3/29 and my grandfather is still in critical condition. This is an outrage that nothing has happened yet. What are they going to do?????? My grandmother is dead now due to the faulty electrical wires. They were staying on the 25th floor but for some reason the elevators were still on during the fire. They got on the elevator and supposely the elevator brought them down to the THIRD FLOOR!!!! Why were the elevators NOT turned off. I want to know what can be done. Please contact me at jamesyee76@yahoo.com.

Absolutely absurd. The management cared? Please..... if the management cared their negligence wouldn't have let ancient faulty wiring cause a fire in the first place. Secondly, if you want to get some kind of fund together why don't you get a fund started for the family who lost a life to such an unnecessary tragedy, not for the family who lost their big screen television.

Ok. Cindy. I personally know the family of person that passed away. You should probably reread my previous post, you illiterate moron. It sounds as if you have a problem with people getting a fund together for the family who lost a life, instead of the people who lost their furniture. I think that you are the one that needs to keep your mouth shut because you have no clue what youre talking about.

Well, I think there are issues in Grand street Guild Apts. Are over a decade old. That fact is the buildings having been badly maintained for so long.......... Another fire will happen again! They will blame another strip box. MGT was trying to avoid a general meeting with the tenants right after the fire because people would have eaten them alive. The meeting is set for May 9th at 6:30 in saint Mary's on Grand street. MGT will say you should stay in your apt even if it kills you. The fire safety meeting is a little too late for the elderly women that pass. Her family showed such river of emotion at her funeral. It broke my heart.. Many City officials said they would help and were still waiting!!!!!!!!!! I THINK THAT WE ALL HAVE TO BE UNIFIED BECAUSE ARE NEIGHBORHOOD IS BEING GENTRIFIED......OUR CONTRACT WILL EXPIRE SOON. The family that had the fire, has been relocated in the building Thanks to efforts of tenant association & Tony Saverese ( board rep)! BUT, Getting answers from the board is like going to the dentist !!!!!!!!!! Painful
