Illinois has the highest murder rate in the country. There have been more deaths in Illinois this year than in Iraq. Maybe the US should pull out of Illinois.
I don't know about 2008, but in 2007 Illinois tied with Texas for 19th/20th place.

The 2007 rankings (MURDER RATES PER 100,000 PEOPLE) were as follows:

Louisiana 14.2
Maryland 9.8
Alabama 8.9
New Mexico 8.2
South Carolina 8.0
Georgia 7.5
Nevada 7.5
Arizona 7.4
Mississippi 7.1
Arkansas 6.7
Michigan 6.7
Florida 6.6
Missouri 6.5
North Carolina 6.5
Alaska 6.4
Tennessee 6.4
California 6.2
Oklahoma 6.1
Illinois 5.9
Texas 5.9

In other words, your North Carolina and John McCain's Arizona both had much higher murder rates than Illinois. And even Sarah Palin's Alaska had a higher murder rate than Illinois.

Murdoch: Obama Win Could Worsen Economic Crisis?

Sure Obama will worsen the US economic crisis.

Obama promised to bankrupt the US coal industry.

When the coal industry is bankrupt, it will bring down the steel industry which depends on coal and the auto industry which depends on steel as well.

Obama will create a major economic disaster in the US if he fools enough Americans to become president.

Obama would not only create an economic disaster...he would bankrupt the entire country and then pledge allegiance to his beloved terrorist allies in the middle east. If Obama becomes president he will rid this country of democracy and turn it into a a mecca for terrorists.

A vote for Obama is a vote against the American economy!
Why would anyone want to keep their money in the stock market with the combo of Obama-Pelosi-Reid running the country. Corporations will pay more taxes. Investors will pay higher capital gains taxes. Unemployment will inevitably increase.
The "Sage of Omaha" says otherwise...he backs Obama. I'd bet on his judgment.
