Do you seriously have a damn clue? Nope, I didnt think so, youre just a bias, tree hugging liberal like the rest of them. So go campaign for osama..i mean obama, and go take your 1994 Toyota corolla and picket around a GM dealership somewhere, how bout' it?

Boy, thats some convoluted logic. I don't think the oil companies have any reason to worry about losing money for a few years. It will take probably 5 years for vehicles like this to be manufactured in sufficient numbers to have any reasonable impact on gasoline refining. And the more the oil companies raise gas prices, the more people will jump to other forms of energy, like ethanol and solar. The smartest move the oil companies could do now would be to drop the price of gasoline in order to increase consumption.
i agree for the most part. The oil companies will always find our threshold and fine tune the prices to fit ecactly to what we are willing to pay. As an example, Once they got us hooked on massive 7.3 litre diesel trucks, the price (of diesel)went up. Detroit could take a lesson from thier European collegues (whom they own anyway) The Europeans and Japaneese have been making 25-30MPG vehicles that carry 5-8 even 12 passengers for decades because the fuel prices have been 2-3 times higher (than ours) for decades or is it that the prices rose as a result of more efficient vehicles?

I can tell you that I have not seen anyone in my neighbourhood curbing their consumption at all even at over 6 bucks per gallon.

Either way less fuel burnt is a good thing regardless.

This thing is DOA...just like the Ford Freestyle.
Some Big People must have a big Car. People who need to transport a lot of people kids, or family want a car like this.
People who want to buy american will buy this car.

People who can afford the gas, or dont have far to drive, or price of gas is no object will buy this car.

If I fell in any one of these cars I would buy this car.

Most people will not fall into these categories

They will fall into the category that i am in the category that cant afford a new car

Or simply would like to get into something that saves gas

Sigh

Sales results for September prove that the Ford Flex is indeed DOA. It is well off sales targets and Ford is considering suspending production.

Tundra wasn't designed to "save" Toyota and it is still conquesting sales from Ford. Ford is on pace to sell 450K F150s this year, less than half from its peak a few years ago.

Built Ford soft?

It was designed to be the "Truck that changes it all".
The Flex wasnt built to 'save' Ford, where did you get that from? It was a replacement for the stale Freestyle.

Ford is on pace to sell about 40K of them. That won't even pay for the media account they took out on it, LOL!
