Avaya-Nortel roadmap shows no clear path to UC in the contact center
Avaya this week outlined its product roadmap for integrating the technology of Nortel Networks, but while both companies had unified communications and contact center technology, the combined technology is unlikely to bring the two closer together.

Individually, these were both good companies. The fact that these 2 companies were partially in the same business has absolutely nothing to do with how the "integration" of the 2 has thus far been less than stellar. Having worked for both of them, I watched NT "botch" aquistions (ie: Clarify, Bay, and others). I was there as Avaya went private and sent there services out the door. There was never a "transition plan" developed by either company for aquisition they made and, flying by the seat of their pants didn't work in the past. Rumor is that Avaya bought the enterprsie group to get rid of it....time will tell
