We were watching shows like Spongebob, Star Trek Voyager and a bunch of others and logged on this morning and they were all NOT AVAILABLE!! Went right on to Netflix and cancelled the account. What a major rip off. Never will sign up for Netflix again!

Netflix is a ripoff, They just raised prices in May. Now they want a 60% increase. There streaming programs have continued to go down hill. So with this latest increase they are trying to force people to take both by teasing with some movies on streaming and some good movies on DVD'S.
I FEEL WE SHOULD BOYCOTT NETFLIX FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND EVERY ONE CANCEL THEIR MEMBERSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF THREE MONTH. Maybe they will get the hint.

I've had a similar experience. Twice, actually. I've watched part of a movie on the Netflix streaming service and come back the next day to finish it, only to find it's not available for streaming anymore. In fact, today I wanted to finish a movie I started watching last night, only to find that not only is it not available for streaming, it's not even available by mail as a DVD. It made me think I'd imagined watching it last night! But now that it's happened twice, I'm pretty sure it's not me :_)

^I have had the same experience. It seems like more movies are falling off streaming than are being added. I am checking into hulu now instead. Seems they may have a better selection of movies.

Wow, movies are dropping off of netflix. Almost positive that I watched the The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus a while back and it is no longer available. When service is reduced i.e. less available titles, you would expect price to be reduced as well.

how do you know they have fewer movies and shows? do you count them daily or do you have a valid online source that tells you?

Streaming licenses expire everyday, shows are temporarily taken off everyday because of quality issues. Just because your show was taken off does not mean that other shows were not added?

the following list tells you what is about to expire.

Just noticed that Salt has fallen off too. I check the new releases regularly and there are not alot of additions. Maybe 10-15 couple per month. So if 681 are expiring over the next 30 days then it looks like they maybe loosing them faster than they are getting them in.

salt and many others was taken off a while back because sony was not getting enough money from starz. Starz licensed their streaming to netflix. you can do a search on this and find all kinds of links about it. One link

To be legal, netflix must license their streamings but unfortunately several studios like sony, hbo and even disney are starting to pull their shows for their own streaming service. They saw how successful hbo to go, comcast's xfinitytv and others are by tying their streaming with cable tv packages to prevent people from turning off their cable.

You only see 10-15 new movies/shows a month because that is based on what you like and what you watch. Netflix lately has been adding older shows/movies, which is what I tend to watch. Now if they would just add the six million dollar man series from the 70's.

Just turned on netflix today via the sony bluray player connected to our tv. Low and behold I find that our recently watched category is gone. It has disappeared in the past but always came back.

I called netflix, according to them they dont control the module in which we view netflix via our given devices. Its up the maker. So basically Sony has decided to make it harder to view netflix movies. If I have to scroll through hundreds of movies just to finish a movie from the other night what is the point. I will just go back to cable.

Way to go Sony!

That is exactly what Sony wants you to do. Go back to cable.

Voyager is still available because we watch it every day from the queue.

The problem lately is that the queue doesn't seem to be updating properly - for at least a week now. It seems to be about 4 episodes behind what we already watched. I even tried deleting the browsing cookies with no luck. I'm thinking that the new viewing method messed up the queue updating somehow.

The only show that was removed from our queue lately was the original Stargate series, and Netflix had the expiration date listed in the queue for a while before they removed it.

Netflix has to remove stuff occasionally in order to put new stuff on their servers. There is only a finite amount of space available unless/until they add new hardware.

Fortunately, Netflix has those shows, too. Seriously guys: these shows occasionally are removed and they always come back. It's not worth getting upset over.

This is why physical media should always be around and not made obsolete. I think streaming is cool and all, but you depend on someone else to make a decision on whether you can or cannot watch something when you want to watch it...you're going to get burned eventually. If you have it physically (and not damaged), you can just pop it in the player and watch it...and they can't make it unavailable to you.

My husband and I loved watching the old western stuff like Cheyenne, Lucas McCain,Wagon train. Does anybody know where these can be found anywhere, besides Netflix. You gotta love it when you're in the middle of a season and Netflix just decides to PULL any series they want.

We also loved the Sci-Fi (Seven Days) where the guy goes back 7 days to fix things. LOVE to find that somewhere.

Thanks
