Many problems with Netflix Blu Ray Discs

Does anyone else have problems with playing Netflix Blu Ray Discs? 9 out of 10 that I get skip, pause and sometimes completely freeze and are unplayable. This is in two different Blu Ray players that are different brands and different ages - one only a few months old, the other is many years old. They both have the latest firmware available to them. I've never had a problem with a purchased Blu Ray disc, only the ones I receive from Netflix.

I really hope I'm not the only one having this problem. Anyone out there have this issue?

Blu-rays are a lot more sensitive to smudges and dirt compare to DVD. Blu-rays you own are probably in pristine conditions as you probably handle them with care. Netflix's customers don't treat rented blu-rays as careful as the ones you bought so they tend to be smudged. When you see that happen, take a cloth and gently wipe the disc clean. Most of the time it will solve the problem.

Yes...the last 3 wont play...wiping doesn't help. Getting sick of it.

I have not been able to play blu rays from netflix for the past couple of weeks. i contacted netflix they didnt care. i check my firmware and it was current.

boy, do i ever! just pulled "parkland" out of the player to send back. froze halfway through.
the disc was pristine, but i cleaned it anyway. it happens to me frequently and i blamed my
3 year old samsung player. guess i have to think twice about buying a new one.

Any blue ray I can see through and see the label will not play on any of my players

This happens more times than I care to admit. Today, one Netflix blu ray disc, The Big Bang Theory, skips, freezes, stalls then stops. The next season disc 2 will not play because "This blu ray isn't compatible for playback." Cleaning doesn't help, updating firmware doesn't help. The problem is with the Netflix disc. If two different players will not play the disc then something is wrong with the disc. I am going to drop Netflix pretty soon if they don't fix this problem.

The disc play on the Playstation player so, in my opinion, these bad Netflix disc are not bad, but made to play on Royku, Playstations, Xbox platforms.

We've been having a terrible time too! All our own discs play great. We are trying and failing at watch the Road to Predition for the 2nd time. It took 3 discs to finally finish The Debt. About cancel....

For the last time (embarrassingly, 3 times) we have stopped getting Blu-ray discs from Netflix. We're just going to rent instead from Amazon when we want. I cant recall how many times we would be watching a Blu-ray and the movie freezes or skips about 3 to 4 chapters. It has ruined MANY movie nights in with me and my wife. We got so tired of it, we said enough! At times we have found small cracks on the edges or we think the movie was not correctly transferred to the disc like it should have been. We have had friends that use to get the discs but stopped as well for the same reasons so its not our Blu-ray players. Netflix has gotten to be so big now that it has one of many mentality's when company's make it big out there. They don't have to care, they have big business coming in, their number one right now in the mailbox movie delivery industry. One day there will be another though, one day. In the meantime we'll stream movies from Hulu, Crackle, Netflix & Amazon.

I have been having the same issues with my Panasonic player for the last year or so. The discs lock up and there is no physical damage. I have talked To corperate at Netflix but they have not been able to help and I have even offered to send my player with the disc that won't play to them. They declined my offer saying that the returned discs would give them an indication of what is wrong. It is very frustrating because there is no alternative with the number of titles Netflix has.
