He said responsibility for curtailing bloodshed also rests with parents, neighbors and teachers to ensure that young people "do not have that void inside them." Why doesn't Obammy make killers face any consequences? They know nothing will happen, so they figure why not. Look at the Ft.Hood shooter, how many years has it been? This guy killed and wounded alot, but nothing happens-cause thats Obama's race.

Obama speaks of a "void" in young people and the necessity for parents to do something about it. It doesn't dawn on him, that it is his own and Leftist policies in America, which have given young people that void, which Leftists try to fill by validating drug use, sexual deviance and rejection of traditional religious values. This has only created a larger void. When will Leftists wake up to their destructive influence and orientation? Politically, it is only the Leftist inclinations to control, that benefit from these horrible acts of violence. They immediately say the cause is guns, when they are the cause with their sick, depraved engineering of vacuous human values. Only the control freak Leftists attempt to benefit politically, doing it repeatedly and immediately. Instead of examining their own depraved souls, they continue trying to hoodwink and control those with actual human values.

Barack Obama has finally exploited last week’s Aurora massacre to begin the push for gun control, erroneously claiming during a speech last night that Our Second Amendment is about hunting and target practice.

“We recognise the traditions of gun ownership that passed on from generation to generation, that hunting and shooting are part of a cherished national heritage,” said Obama during remarks made at a National Urban League Conference in New Orleans.

In reality, Our Founders put the Second Amendment in Our Bill of Rights not to ensure Americans could enjoy hunting or target practice, but as a protection against government tyranny.

As Howard University School of Law’s Thomas M. Moncure, Jr. explains, the right to bear arms was derived from English common law and was clearly focused around having an armed citizen militia to protect against abuses by the state.

As James Madison wrote in the Federalist Papers, the Right to bear arms was seen as a means of protecting liberties against government intrusion. Madison noted that in “several kingdoms of Europe … governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”

Patrick Henry also made it clear that firearms were for self-defense and not duck hunting when he stated,“Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense?”

“Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American People’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence,” said George Washington, adding that “The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference.”

Thomas Jefferson also succinctly outlined why gun control only serves to disarm the public while emboldening criminals.

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes ... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man,” he stated.

"Working with Congress" means he will demand they pass legislation to his liking, with no discussion or compromise. If he doesn't get exactly and entirely what he wants, well then it's Congress being obstructionist or something like that......

In the Illinois Senate, Obama voted:

NO SB 381 To require prisoners to pay court costs for frivolous lawsuits against the state.

NO SB 485 To give no offer of "good time" for sex offenders sentenced to the County Jail.*Obama was the only vote against this measure.

NO HB 1812 To require school boards to install software on public computers accessible to minors to block sexually explicit material.

YES SB 880 To allow the purchase of 10 hypodermic needles from a pharmacy without a prescription.

Sent a shock wave throughout the state of Illinois when he voted to make a criminal out of a homeowner who was forced to use a gun to defend himself in his own home.

Refused to vote for a bill in the Illinois State Senate that would have increased penalties for drug traffickers.

Voted against making it a criminal offense for convicts on probation or on bail to have contact with a street gang.

Voted against a bill that would have delivered the death penalty to gang members who murder first responders.

And, it seems he had a habit of making "oops" votes too.

Obama's loyalities run to the criminal element in Chicago, not the elderly, or sick, or just plain folks that want to be left alone from those hellians. Right now the Mayor is welcoming Farrahkan into the neighborhoods to threaten the bad guys to quit their killing sprees until after the election. We will see tomorrow as the weekend starts, if the dire threats are working.

Chicago is a unique city. The Mayors Daley ruled with iron fists. Everyone stayed in line, and smiled lest they lose their cushy job, elevated position they didn't deserve. Now Rahm is trying to do the same with the aid of Louis Farrakhan, and his bruiser looking army. I don't think it will work, but who knows. If we have less then 4 dead by Monday it is a success.
