Job-hunting site Monster to cut 15% of workforce

Monster Worldwide Inc., the world's largest network of online job-hunting sites, said yesterday it will cut 800 jobs, or 15 percent of its staff, after reporting that second-quarter profit fell.

Monster would be wise to utilize the HR staff its downsizing in its sells department after all it is HR professionals that typically make the buying decisions on on-line advertising and Monster is not very well networked with these groups on the local levels. Also, HR professionals are busy; I don't always want to place my own ad, there is a benefit to having a sells or customer service person that I can call and have do the work for me. Monster is average at providing customer service on this level.
