Coal to Gas is old hat. But there is no support for the idea that it will reduce emissions.
They say they will sequester the CO2 from the coal at least (the methane gas would still contribute) but nothing in the article says they have a plan that would work or even a plan. Waving hands over the MAJOR point of the project leaves me cold.
Nor is lignite a good feedstock for coal to methane conversion.
