These guys are the height of hypocrisy. Romney and Brownback are invested in stem cell research companies. Giuliani does business with Chavez. The Bush family does business with terrorist sympathizers in the Middle East. Some things never change.

What "stem cell companies" are Romney and Brownback "invested in"? |
Since when is it my job to read the article for you? |
It isn't. I missed the heading at first, and apparently my follow=up post saying so disappeared. Got a problem with that? Do you have an objection to ESC research or simply to politicians investing in said research, while claiming to be against it? It appeared to me from the article that the investments were in blind trusts. |
Kevin Madden, a Romney spokesman, said it was unclear how long ago the stocks were purchased. If they were purchased after his investments went into a blind trust, dont you think the Romney campaign would be mentioning that in every other sentence. Instead,he tried to defend the decision saying they use mice embryos a lot. As for not getting to see your follow up, my apologies. But whats up with the " got a problem with that". Trying to act like a tough guy on the internet always cracks me up. |
And didn't we learn when Sen. Frist sold off his shares in his family business HCA hospitals, right before they tanked, that trusts are not exactly that BLIND? And that the plutocrats don't go to jail, like George W. Bush didn't get charged for way wrong stock deals back in his dry hole oil well businesses? |
Glad to make your day, then. I believe that Romney has now stated that he will divest himself of any investments in companies involved in ESC research. |

My "got a problem with that?" was only made in response to your rather hostile comment, "Is it my job to read the article to you?" If you don't like "tough guy" retorts, maybe you should can the sarcasm.

So, Parlo, you didn't say whether you objected to ESC research or simply to Romney's investing in it while decrying it on moral grounds.

Its the hypocrisy that gets me. Especially when done in a religious manner. The mutual fund part is no big deal. Funds own all kinds of stocks, and their portfolio changes on a regular basis. But to own shares outright, while preaching about the evils of it is pure hypocrisy. Its like when Bush was vocal about the Schiavo case. Well it turns out that when he was Governor, he signed into law, a bill that allowed insurance companies to overrule a family and pull the plug if they saw fit. Culture of life? No! |

I don't much care either way, since anything Romney does to shoot himself in the foot is ok by me; I wouldn't vote for him anyway. Brownback either. I'm also sanguine enough to realize that anybody in politics, even someone I would vote for, is probably just as hypocritical and corrupt.

I agree with you on what the repukes did in the Schiavo case....that's what made me stand up & take notice of the threat that the christian right poses to our country & it's freedoms & that is why I stand in support of defending a woman's constitutionally recognized right to choose for herself. BTW,in the Schiavo case it was George's dimwitted brother Jeb who was the most vocal about it....he was trying to use the case to further his political ambitions which was down right disgusting. |

I was really disgusted by it. I am always suspicious when people start wearing religion on their sleeves. |
