Global warming will get AC before that anyway. Sea levels will sink the entire city. and if you believe all the profits the world will end in December 2012..

The Prophets predicted the end of the world somewhere in the 90's, and in 2000, and how many other times? There'll be no sudden end, the people of this world are killing off the world a piece at a time. |
They'll come to see,Then leave after they start running their Casino like the rest of the Crooks!!! |
Just a matter on time, Don, until PA has a smoking ban enforced in its casinos as well. Plus, the slot revenue at PA casinos has been going down over the past three weeks; Mount Airy is down 30%. So, you see, its not just an A.C. problem. |
Smoking doesn't bother us.Mt Airy did drop but that was expected because its new and now things will level out.A/C has been going downhill for yesrs now.We use to visit 45-48 times a year.NO more. Now we go about 10-12 times!!! |
Nope, that's not correct. AC has been going up, up, up over the years. This is the first year that revenues will be down. The market is adjusting, just as you said... on both the NJ & PA sides of the river. |
Does anyone have a clue that the middle class is going down? The retired boomers with pensions are drying up,that was yo mother's generation that goes to AC with their ciggies and O2 tanks behind em to pull the arms of two or three one arm bandits...now they just push the buttons....but who will come next? What group with the disposable income? The Chinese....wrong! They have another place to go much better than AC!Even the eastern european kids coming to the boardwalk to work on student visas for the summer are claiming that the dollars don't go as far back home as they did three years ago and it just ain't worth it.

I would rather clean up diarreaha than go there!

Well, if anything, I would think A.C. will have the upper hand for when after all of the old people die. Right now, they are targeting the much younger crowd, who... will one day patronize these casinos that cater to them now. Other states continue to target the grey-haired folk instead of preparing for the future once all of their clientelle drop. |

The Young people of today will NEVER have the retirement income that the seniors of today have. I have 3 adult kids who will have nothing much more than Social Security when they retire. I retired with 4 pensions 2 annuitys and 2 Social security checks (one for me and one for wife who never worked). Plus my own savings. Show me how many companys give out pensions or annuities today. now all you get is 401K maybe matched by your boss. Todays younger crowd will never be able to suport the casions like the old timers of today, especially if they have to put up with living in NJ with the cost of living being what it is here. |
I totally agree with you! |
YOU got that right, I feel sorry for todays Young people trying to save for retirement in areas like New Jersey. Housing and taxes are SOOO high who can save. The ONLY thing I might add is many many seniors leave NJ for better living in other areas. So you can cross them off your list of who is spending money in AC. I lived in NJ for several years and spent alot of money at the casinos in AC. No plans to ever go back. |

One thing I did NOT say right in my post was, I said my kids will have nothing more than Social Security. What I should have added was IF there is any Social Security left in 20 years. the way it is being handled I doubt it.. |

when people want to try to turn their last $10 into $20.....the casino's will be there for them. If you think recession hurts business.....of course it does,......but casino's will always do well. bet on it. |
