Any info. on working conditions at the Birmingham Ala. plant. From what I've read ,Magna Inc. bought out Ogihara America Stamping Plant in 2006. I'm a Skilled Trade worker who would have too relocate. Any info. on this big decision would be helpful.

Regarding my first post, sorry for the incorrect info.Birmingham's Ogihara stamping plant was acquired by Cosma International, an operating unit of Magna International Inc. The year was 2008, not 2006.

hello~My husband currently works at the Alabama plant and we have had some slow periods just like everyone else, but it has been a good experience. My husband loves working for them, as he did Ogihara, and they have made major changes for the better in a short period of time. Some people may not agree, but I think so too. It is just being patient with the economy and sales to pick up in this recession that is frustrating. They seem to be picking up and it seems like they will get busier by the end of the year/beginning of next year. I do not know if this helps. Good Luck:)

Anything new with this plant? From what I understand, our old GM is now the AGM there-Rick Gibson. I am also a skilled trades worker needing a good job and looking to relocate and want to know more about this plant. It is my understanding that they need toolmakers? Any kind of info would be appreciated.

I work there and think it has went down hill. my opinion is there is alot of favortism. Ogihara treated the people better, it's all buddy , buddy . I don't believe Kamtek cares about people as much as ogihara did and it's full of politics, it seems the GM brought all his buddies in. Thats just my opinon,
