Gulfstream was my favorite track when I lived down there. I knew that development plan was a bad one as soon as I heard about it.

They don't give any free concerts any more because they are too greedy now that they have gambling.

Let them suffer.

Their slots have received poor turnout because they are such LOUSY machines! The Isle at Pompano Park is a much nicer, less expensive, better paying facility. "Wow" is so correct-they're just too greedy. Stronach has always been that way and it's nice to see him flop in this fashion!

Yeah, Gulfstream also advertises promotions and then changes them without warning. Last month they advertised on Mondays they would match and double any competitor's freeplay coupons.

We drive down there to find out "management" changed the promotion to $25 maximum matching play. So my $100 Hard Rock free play was useless at Gulfstream. We walked out without sticking a single penny in their slots and WON'T BE BACK.

Smart move Gulfstream management.

If you're gonna gamble, anywhere BUT Gulfstream is better.

When Gulfstream screwed it's customers on Monday Aug. 29th out of "double any south florida casino's coupons there were thousands of angry customers.I was there to witness all the parton's leaving and heading toward Mardi-Gras. This was the beginning of the end for Gulfstream. High prices, catering to only rich patron's also contibuted to their demise. what you say? They are still in business? You are witnessing the slow death of bad business decisions.

Really. How do you arrive at that decision?. The concerts attract a crowd of people who are not interested in slot machines. Just drugs and alcohol.
The slots at the Hard Rock at NOT regulated. The best guess is they pay off at 81% while florida's casino's are regulated and pay off at almost 92%.
They pay no taxes and are like parisites. They just feed off the players and contribute nothing to the local or state goverment like the Broward casino's which are saddled with a 50% tax. Can you name any business in the world that can stay competivie with a 50% tax vs. none?

I always find it amusing how people slam either the Indians or the Broward Casino's without any knowledge of how it all works. I have nothing against native americans. G_D only know how the U.S.gov ernment screwed them over and over again. Stealing their land and so on. Now it seams they are getting even. Having "EXTENSIVE" knowledge of how the slots work I can tell you that the Hard Rock, and the rest of the indian casino's are ripping off the public at massive levels.just imagine if the U.S. goverment or any locality allowed any business to be run un-regulated. "Their machines, class II, pay off at what is the lowest payouts in the industry. It they were regulated and doing this they would all be in jail by now.

the trouble with gulf stream park is the management they know nothing about slot gamblers? they started off on the right foot but decided that they would only go for the high betters and not the small one. just to give you the latest joke is they offered one dollar hot dogs to patrons who could show their cards and what happens now? they are charging two dollars for the hot dogs. Mardi Gras found out that the one cent machines have people putting twenty dollars in to pay and so their machines are busy most of the time. go to the gulf and the only machines that are busy are the one cent slots and there aren't that many. So get off their high horse and come back to earth and find the golden goose.

Gulfstream made the same mistakes most of the other gambling locations and ships have made in the Florida market - namely, trying to force the product they imagine onto a market that wants a different product. In Gulfstream's specific case they built a palace for a gambling market (slot players) who could care less about the location and more about the machines and the promotions.
They don't understand that south Florida is not Las Vegas and customer relations needs to be handled much differently here.
As a former professional in this industry I know that history, as in other states, makes working with a 50% tax very difficult, but its not too late. With the right marketing and promotions Gulfstream can still succeed - but, they have to listen first.

If you only knew how much money my husband dropped at that track while I was over watching the concert and relaxing you'd cry for me.

No concert, he has to make other plans unless I want to go to the track. He won't go without me.

And you're pretty assuming. And how stupid to even try and compare the track to the hardrock. It's apples and oranges.

And the Hardrock doesn't even give you drinks when you're dropping serious money. They're just making fools of people like you.

Go to Vegas. You'll get your money's worth.

I don't know. They have too much competition and have pissed off too many people. Sorry, I'm very stubborn, when I say I won't be back - that is set in stone.

I don't really care what the pay out is at Hard Rock. Don't get me wrong I would love to see it finally regulated by the state AND the state finally get a chunk. But, the slots are entertainment for me, no different than someone who goes to dinner and a movie. We all have our ways of spending discretionary money.

Hard Rock has room for improvement too, but they do at least try to treat their players half decent. I've seen plenty of concerts for free and have never paid for a meal.

You go to one casino until they p*ss you off then you go to another. It doesn't matter where you stick your dollar because you'll be back, like fleas on a dog. How much free play is Gulfstream giving out each month? Compared to Mardi Gras's $5 or $15 once a month?

Ridiculous how people complain because they want something for nothing as if it's owed to you. I agree with another poster...get off your high horse!
