Do not believe everything that you hear. I have heard that the real market that is selling is homes under 300,000.00 and mostly resales. Unless the house is fully equipped with everything you want because if you have to but more into it after you close then is it worth buying new....
Anything to make the builder more money. Remember our government has already given them tax breaks that are unbelievable and they only offer the newer buyer a small tax break... So think carefully before you spend a lot of money on something that still is going to need work..

I will never buy another house in the USA. I bought an overpriced, mold-infested Pulte Home and was unable to live in it or sell it. Homebuilders in the USA seems to have no responsibility to make repairs in timely manner nor pay for damages to your health if you live in toxic house. Now I rent my house here in Las Vegas, I gave my Pulte Home back to bank and pay for physiotherapy for my child who was born prematurely due to my poorly built Pulte Group home. Yes,I accuse being evicted by mold having caused premature birth. I also accuse some builders for deliberately causing stress and even bodily harm to buyers by building substandard sloppy houses.
