Lawlor is an idiot. I cannot believe anyone listens to anything he has to say. Maybe he should have had a bowl of fruit loops instead of the pretzel.

Are you freaken kidding us. Yankee stadium also offers ears of corn that you can get with or without butter...depending on your preference. How about pondering how the messiah will make Obama Motors profitable with the line of clown cars soon to follow. Watch gas prices force us into it. Fat people won't even be able to fit into the new cars so who cares about calories you knucklehead.

Another major piece of legislation done. I am glad they did this before they wasted any time on the minor issue of a state budget.

We need to remember these actions by our brilliant legislators and vote them out of office come November. Especially Donovan,Williams , Lawlor and do not foget McDonald. They are all self centered egomaniacs.

You people aren't getting it. The government will need this information when they pass universal healthcare ... so they can then tax those restaurants for their contribution to the obesity problem of americans ... which raises the cost of healthcare.
Big Mac = 18% surtax based on calorie content.

If you do not think they are eyeing this ... think again. Welcome to Obama's socialist america.

Why don't they make the bars tell their buddy O'Rourke how much alcohol is in his drinks?

This bill is assinine. It is another unwanted intrusion into daily life by the state. It is also unfair to restaurants. This is a prime example of the Democrats enacting another bill hostile to private business, driving jobs away from the state.

They're stalling to get into a special session, so they can make more money. If they'd spend less time with lobbyist$ and more time on business the state might get out of the financial hole it's in.

More bulls**t legislation which is not needed.

Hey donovan and williams last i heard there was a budget impasse and a bad economy.

Democrats suck and they were too busy sucking up and getting drunk at the JJB.

I agree with you guys about Lawlor and McDonald; they are cagey and disingenuous. On the other hand, there are a lot of people who are ignorant about nutrition. If you're not a dietician or nutritionist, it can be very confusing. Try reading the food label details at the supermarket. Do you know what they all mean? Take a look at the ingredients list on your typical birthday cake at your typical supermarket. Note how many ingredients (chemicals) are in those cakes. Do you want all those chemicals in your body?

The political public-health equivalent of this bill would be to require every politician to list ALL major campaign fund donors on every ad, flyer, press release, or newsletter they put out.

Same reason: Know the hidden content!

For example:
Lawlor's sponsoring this? So:
Required to participate: fast food chains (non-union).
Exempt from participation: schools (union) and grocery stores (largely union).

Follow the money. Always follow the money.

So... Since the restaurants will now post the number of calories, we will all get skinny. Great piece of legislation.

Fat people get fat because THEY EAT TOO MUCH!

I went to a baseball game the other night. A couple sat next to me. Both were fat, really fat. Innings one and two were occupied with eating a large order of nachos, of course with lots of chili and cheese. Inning four was a couple of hot dogs. Then came the peanuts. Dessert was some cotton candy. Yum. All along the way there were large cups of soda and beer.

If you want to pass another piece of cr*p bill effective in reducing obesity, just make it illegal to sell junk and fast food to a fat person.

Go back to work on the budget!

I thought Republicans were for personal responsibility?

What better way to be personal responsible for what you eat than knowing how much fat and calories are in the food?

It's a great idea, I'll have a Whopper Jr., hold the mayo and cheese.

Thank You

Mike Lawlor needs to retire. This liberal idiot has been responsible for so much stupid legislation. Rep Lawlor deserves to be awarded " Dumbass Legislator of the Year".

Time for East Haven to drop this guy and elect someone with a brain.

Anything that comes out of this guy's mouth is heard from a stupid blog because he is on their contact list especially the weirdos at My Left Nutjob.
