TO UNKNOWN FROM "CANADA"
Does McDonalds pay you weekly?
You defend them every time. My claim is justified. The price on the menu board for a #2 is the price for a medium meal. If they wish to sell you more they should do just that, sell you it. Let me explaine it so you can understand.
When your moma says she'll suck your di#k for $20 dollars, then after swallowing your pathetic load asks for $30 then she has mislead you. you didn't ask for her to swallow, she just did. Why should you pay more than advertised?
Hope this helps you.

So you should get free food because you can't read the screen in front of you that says what you're ordering?

NO! I never wanted a large in first place. And i do not want anything free. I want McDonalds to stop using this very shady pratice. you and i both know what they are doing. It is your job to defend them however you can. It is my job as a consumer and a 35 year loyal customer who has helped make them what they are to help keep them from abusing the very thing that has made them sucessful, the customers. Without us there is no McDonalds, you idiot. This store is in MY NEIGBOORHOOD, it's not in Canada. So mind your business. Or give me your number and address and next time i come to Canada i'll look you up.

It's not my job, I defend McDonald's from idiots like you for free - community service, if you will.

I don't see what you're complaining about - you're getting more food for a higher price. If they gave you less food for less money, it'd be the same thing. Stop whining.

Then your truely a sad excuse for a human being. Get a life! And again, send me that number and address. I travel to Canada from time to time on business. I'd love to set you stright in person. But alas, you won't. You sit behind the safety of your computer and call people idiots like a little girl. You don't have the balls to say it to my face. So how about it, send me your exact location. Everyone that reads these exchanges will either believe(as i do) that you are in some way connected to McDonalds or that your just some loser with nothing better to do then sit in your parents house on your moma's computer(while she's out giving bj's to support you) insulting people who are trying to warn others so they are not taken advantage of. GET A JOB, get laid or just stay the fu#k out of my business.

I'll slow the math down for you.... Follow along, if you can!
If I order specific individual items all totally a lower cost and McDonalds intentionally makes it a meal or sneaks in other items to elevate the final cost... they are making a profit (hence, the difference between actual and elevated cost) and, thus, stealing from their customers.
Get it?
Plus I've found other websites ( http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/ste... ) that speak to the same topic. So this is not a one store, area, region, or district thing, but McDonalds intentional clandestine attempts to increase their profit margin while defrauding their customer base.
I'll break this down further for you:
1. This is only attempted through their drive-thru; never done in face-to-face in-store purchases.
2. Refusing or limiting paper products, napkins, receipts, and condiments, not only lessens their carbon foot print, but increases their overall profit margin.
3. Upgrading individual items into higher price meal plans, or adding extra items in hopes the customer doesn't notice is no different than you going to Best Buy and replacing the $5,000 price sticker on a big screen TV with the $15 sticker on a CD... It's STEALING!!!!
So check your orders before you drive off and make sure you get your receipt. Better still, don't eat McDonalds (especially drive-thru)

That's wrong. They should always have their receipt whether they ask for one or not.

Guess what Unknown27, you are trying to defend this company which you have every right to but if these people have had bad experiences at McDonald's then they have every right to voice their opinions. It's called customer service, which means the employee is suppose to SERVICE the customer, the customer should not have to service theirself. If I don't ask for a large drink, then dont give me a large drink, especially if that means that I have to pay more for it. If I'm willing to pay for a large anything then I'll let you know, otherwise give me what I asked for! and if you're not sure then ask me wat size I want. And yes the customer could be paying more attention and looking at the screen to see what the order is so far, but it's not there job to make sure everything is correct...IT'S THE EMPLOYEE'S JOB! And another thing, why is it that I can place my order, pay for it, and then when I get my order, something is missing? How hard is it to read a screen and put the food in the bag?!Its not rocket science, it doesnt even require you to have a high school diploma. And yet this must have happened to me half of all the times I've been to McDonalds. And what I really hate is when they ask you to pull to the front and wait for your meal, if I wait in line, then when its my turn its my turn, and i dont care if the person behind me only ordered one thing! They should have to wait just like I did!! So if you want to defend this company by all means, its a free country, well im not sure if Canada is but I dont have any judgement against you, i just found it kind of rude that you would try to demean these people's complaints on the company when they sound like they were extrememly unhappy with the service they received from McDonalds.

1st of all global warming is very much happening and the world's complexity is exactly the reason why. It is not just a "mechanism" to rob first world countries. Today's technology produce a lot of chemicals that are being released into the atmosphere as well as the incomplete burning of fossil fuels producing carbon monoxide, CO2 is not the only chemical causing global warming, all of the greenhouse gases (methane, carbon monoxide, ozone, etc.) are building up quite a bit in the trophosphere and global warming may not happen next year, the year after that, or even in 10 years but it will happen eventually. And 2nd Mars does contain these gases also but i'm not sure if you relaize that Mars does not contain oceans, iceburgs, or HUMANS, that are being or will be effected by global warming and also the greenhouse effect.

I can see where you are coming from and they shouldnt automatically select large.
If they want to upsell the policy should be to ask "is that large?"

But at the same time, I really hate when customers will not specify a size, and for example if I ask is that medium, their response is "NO! LARGE" like i'm supposed to already know.

Especially with the dual laned drive-thru, in the periods where we have our unplanned rushes (and don't have the crew to cover it), there's nothing worse then trying to take one vague person who won't specify sizes order while you've got another car waiting, you're trying to cashier the car at your window who also wants to change their order then wants to pay with eftpos but puts the wrong pin in while the presenter is complaining that the cars are taking too long to come down,
In these situations I can understand why the crew would just assume, i'm not justifying it, but it's not always shady business or stupid crew.

Doesn't sound like stealing to me. It sounds like you just visit a bad mcdonalds. Most mcdonalds actually follow the rules.

Where i live procedure is :

-One napkin per item
-Always hand receipt with change or card
-Condiments available upon request (always free no matter how many you ask for)

Some suggestions:
-Voice your concerns with the establishment. Maybe they don't realize what is happening.
-Ask them to repeat your order/ look at the screen if its not correct tell them.
-If you do these things and they are still messing up talk to the manager. Be polite and they will make sure to do something about it. If they are rude to you then don't go there again.

1 napkin per item including drinks, sauces, even a newspaper.
1 straw per cold drink.

We only ask if you want sauces with nuggets, chicken selects, or breakfast burritos. Condiments can be asked for at any point, but we can and usually will charge you for extra nugget sauces. Current prices for just on cup is anywhere from 29-58 cents. Usually we give away ketchup, extra napkins, straws, etc. for free, within reason, because they're relatively cheap.

People weren't trained right apparently.

I always give plenty napkins, ask if they need ketchup, and whatever sauces they want/ask for. That's what we do at ours. When I'm in drive thru I never "upgrade" to a large unless asked to, and I ask if they want their meal medium or large. People, not all McDonalds' are the same.

I also always give the receipt no matter what, and sometimes if they just order a soda or coffee I chuck the receipt cause they march off without it.
