Breakfast sandwiches rated

It's been an interesting spring for the breakfast sandwich. In March, we lost the visionary behind the Egg McMuffin when Herb Peterson, a Rogers Park native, died at 89.

What about Hardee's and their omelet biscuit? It's got to be as rank as the others.

I've really tried hard to like the Panera breakfast sandwich, but I just can't get over the feeling I'm being ripped off.$3.69 for *that*?

Hard to beat the egg and cheese sandwiches at Starbucks. With coffee under $5.

McDonald's breakfast is still very reasonably priced and deathly bad for you. BUT I LOVE IT. Always the mad dash to get there before they switch over to lunch on weekends- there was a great rumor last year that they were considered breakfast 24/7. That would shave 10 years off my life as I would be eating Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuits everyday for lunch.

Dunkin Donuts bacon egg and cheese is a pitiful being. Tastes like a microwaved previously frozen sponge with shredded plastic bag for bacon and a slice of cheese.

Last time I checked there are no Hardee's anywhere near the city, so who cares.

Whatever happened to home cooking? I toast a terrific frozen waffle. I microwave great frozen pancakes and french toast.

Sorry, but using a toaster and/or microwave is not cooking.

I have had 2 heart attacks which I put most of the blame on me for my choices but some of the blame on fast food. I would be happy to wait a few minutes longer or pay a few cents more for a healthier offering. The processing and cooking methods used to offer food tastes is disgusting! It is a death sentence when the food is eaten. The executive's of these corporations don't eat their own garbage. They can afford a maid or a first class restaurant to cook their food. Wake up everybody and stop feeding their pockets! It is not good food! Fat laced chicken and biscuit for breakfast is another marketing ploy. Start going to mom and pop places or take some time and make a meal yourself with your family. Look at the fat content of all the items offered. Is it a contest as to who can offer the least healthful food for sake of taste. " Old Dog New Dress"...lets see how many ways we can kill the public while we dress up this chicken!

McDonald's sausage/egg cheese McMuffin is hard to beat.

The golden arches is the only place open and convenient to where I work that early.

I agree that the Dunkin Donuts sandwiches are terrible, but their coffee is still tops.

Ever since I learned that McDonald's has an excellent iced coffee, I haven't returned to Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast.

I have tried the McDonald's chicken biscuit twice. I don't need to do it again. No comparison to the chicken biscuit from Chick Fil A, but then again, not too many Chick Fil A's in the area. Unless you like going to Racine.

McDonald's Breakfast Burrito is becoming a guilty pleasure for me, despite the weird texture of the tortilla (if I ate human skin, I imagine it might feel like this tortilla). The coffee, however, is maddeningly inconsistent -- sometimes really good, other times water and dirt. Their breakfasts have come a long way in the last decade or so (my college friend used to refer to their breakfasts as "Bowel McMovement")
