well.. with all the good food Vietnam has to offer, I'd doubt they would be breaking a sweat because there is no Mcdonalds. Besides being a potential cash cow, what's brought to the table doesn't have any upsides to it. You could say the same about KFC etc. that has already made it into the country. At all cost, Vietnam should prevent Mcdonalds from manipulating the country. The seems to have a strong influence to almost everywhere else in the world as if it was a monoply. It's ridiculous. Mcdonalds should just save it with there flashy "we care" donations and charities because they've done more damage than good. These are just a mask of disguise for what's really happening here. In short, NO THANKS on GOLDEN "cash cow, unhealthy, bad habit, diseise causing" ARCHES

Why is everyone so scared of McDonald's coming to Vietnam? People should have a choice where they want to eat. Much the same as those that don't chose to eat Vietnamese food they should have options albeit McDonald's could and should be one of them. I think it's fear that the local roadkill that's served up will lose favor and people will opt for a sanitized choice without fear of who knows what in their bowls!

i agree though that you should not come here and just eat junk the food here is amazing, especially more towards the south |

Just Returned from Ho Chi Minh, and there are no Mcdonalds there. What I did find are many wonderful restaurants serving healthy foods with great tastes.
Like all foods, somethings you like and others not so good. So try as many things and if you need stability, there is always Pho ! |

Hm....Mc Donald's did come to vietnam and of course went bankrupt cause of the high price, after a while KFC came...
U guys have no idea of how sick i am of eating out the same vnmese food everytime > < Just imagine u eat the same thing over and over again. And if you're lucky enough to find a good place that serve clean cooked food at the same time tasty in vn then good for u(i'm not so lucky > <). And KFC sucks!!! Dunno how it taste in HCM but in HN it sucks like dirty sucks > < Chicken are too dry and too crispy sth like they cooked it a day ago and just heat it up in the microwave > < Lotteria taste like crap and takes like hours to serve a small hamburger == Aside of all fast food restaurants i've ever taste outside vn, i think McDonald's the best(though unhealthy but tasty). Because of the high price ppl wouldn't visit McD often so the concern for obesity is out! |
