Environmental Groups Find Hundreds of Toys Containing Lead

“We test every (product) before it ships numerous times”

Tests on more than 1,200 children's products, most of them still on store shelves, found that 35 percent contain lead -- many with levels far above the federal recall standard used for lead paint. via LasVegasNOW

Red China is trying to give our kids lasting generational birth defects so they can walk right in & take us over. The Chinese are building their military forces like crazy. They are the second largest consumer of oil behind the USA, but will surpass us in less than 10-15 years.

Watch out America...Red China has us in their crosshairs!

sorry Mike 1950
My Grandfather died because he worked with asbestos, that wasn't made up by the drug industries.

I have a child that was diagnosed with high levels of lead. We lived in an old home and understood there was issues but had no idea what lead poisoning could do to people. You should do some research, you would be surprised.

I also had an aunt who died of asbestosis. And the father of our best friend. It is NOT just a "scare tactic". Trust me, asbestos hazards are very real.

Um, of course these things were always toxic-- what has changed is -- we diagnose the 'natural deaths' now taht - back in the 40s-60s-- they had no idea.

They were even MORE clueless about medical/health issues than today if that can be believed.

But - once again -- here we go -- ANOTHER "thank you Ronald Reagan" is in order.

Thanks to his scorched earth DEREGULATION -- we now have NO INSPECTIONS for toys, meat, vegetables etc -- The nuke plants-- ah they can be inspected by the owners themselves!!

Banks?? No problem -let them own insurance companies -- they can be trusted.

Wall st?? Too many rules!! let these all-american bankers and day traders loose-- the FREE MARKET will trickle wealth down on all our heads!!

And here we are. 2007. 24 years of Bush/reagan INSANITY.

And Bubba didn't help much -- HE SIGNED GATT/NAFTA..giving away our hard earned food safety to international business concerns!!

But -- mark my words and study it WELL -- Look at the REAL effects of the "reagan Revolution" -- Don;t believe the nonsense from a drug-addict comedian like Rush Limbaugh -- look at the FACTS -- reagan left us a nasty deficit, cities in shambles, the AIDS crisis that he ignored ENTIRELY,(didn't SAY THE WORD "AIDS" until November of his last year in!!)

Why does this matter?? Because EVERY DAY -- I see the results of TOO MUCH dergulation -- YES I want to pay less taxes YES i want the govt off my back -- I was a small business owner for over a decade .

But -- we need containers inspected . We need chicken that is AT LEAST at the standard of fking RUSSIA-(which ours usually isn't).

We have 60 or more countries that BAN USA BEEF since we run a 4th world inspection system . Pitiful!!!

Thanks Reagan -- Hope it's Hot enough where you are.
How about food or print

Forget the toys, I'm concerned about all the other things that are made in China that could be full of poisons. Glad sandwich bags, Hamburger Helper sauces, the christmas lights I just bought at Target with a big "LEAD PAINT" warning on the outside of the box, printing on thousands of cardboard boxes that I touch when shopping and stocking my shelves. I have to wear gloves to shop at Publix and unload my groceries and hang my Christmas lights?
Toys are the tip of the iceberg of the catastrophe that cheap overseas contractors and subcontractors are doing to save pennies.

Well, I'm a public health worker in China and it sounds like some of you will be relieved to know that Chinese infants and children die in record numbers from industrial and product pollution here. Childhood leukemia is the leading cause of death for children and other cancers are right up there.
Foreign buyers push Chinese factories to deliver faster and cheaper. Don't be surprised that quality suffers. Of course the factories should just say "no" but greed seems to be a universal human quality.

Of course we are not relieved to know this at all.

I have always been against American companies being allowed to go out of country and avoid the rules and regulations which our country has taken decades to reach in order to protect people.

US Companies should be held accountable, yesterday!

That said, I hope you're not blaming these deaths and problems with China's environment on all foreign companies. The Chinese govt should be held accountable too.

Dang. My kid is getting homemade presents this year. Maybe I'll glue some rocks together and tell her it's a bike. She has a strong imagination. Good kid.
