Too bad they aren't going to have a women's only floor of rooms. I can understand women wanting to feel secure while traveling. I agree with the turnaround decision about the women's only lounge though....that would have been too discriminatory. If there were a men's only lounge that would have created an uproar as well, so fair is fair. But the hotel room thing was a nice security idea.

I thought having a floor 'for women only' was an excellent idea. It provides a nice comfortable safe haven.

I have traveled overseas and although I didnt have any serious problems from men, after a while it did get aggravating to have to continually say "NO!" to all kinds of offers.

When I found a place in Geneva that was dorms 'for women only' I booked a room. Believe me, it was a welcome and much needed change. I could relax & unwind without having to deal with men's unwanted advances. It was very refreshing to have that break!!
I think that there should be more places that offer rooms & an area for women only.
A woman can then have her choice of where she wants to stay,'women only' or 'co-ed'. What is wrong with that? I certainly do not see it as discriminatory. If there were a floor 'for men only', I for one certainly wouldn't care one bit. To cry "discrimination" on this topic is assinine!!

Kelly, you see the problem is... for a LONG time, women couldn't go places. There was a LOT of men's only places. And that's exactly what we did. We screamed for the same rights and for equality, and we got it! Now, I'm not complaining about our rights we have, but why take 5 steps backs and do the same thing then men were doing to us?

I will be the first to admit it....you make a valid point. I hadn't thought of it like that.

i say yes to the women only floor, women should have the right to sleep feeling safe. also as a husband of 27 years tomorrow, i would sleep better if my wife had the choice while traveling.
