Melanie Holmes, Manpower vice president, told the Journal Sentinel's Joe Dresang, one of the biggest problems is a skills mismatch, "not a shortage necessarily of warm bodies". I disagree. Having been a Manpower "temporary" clerical worker for 12 years, I can tell you first hand that because of the low starting pay, low benefits and only having received 2 pay raises of .50 cents in 12 years, it doesn't surprise me Manpower can't fill those jobs in particular. They call you a temporary worker even though you're working for them for many years. The do this so they don't have to be responsible for you as if you were regular employee. They have a terrible repuation at IBM and Manpower contractors moral is extremely low. Melanie Holmes along with Manpower share holders sit fat and pretty with quarterly reports show profits are up favorably while workers feel like they work for a sweat shop. Those profits comme off the backs of workers who never see pay increases.
