SWA's pilots have nothing to complain about. The are some of the highest (if not the highest) paid pilots in the U.S. Airline industry. I don't think a Southwest Airlines pilot has ever been furloughed, and I doubt that they will have to worry about that for a LONG TIME. Southwest Airlines pilots are "spoiled brats". While a majority of other airlines are furloughing their pilots or slashing pilot wages, that's not been the case for SWA pilot. A message to SWA pilot's...."Be thankful you have a flying job to go to and a healthy company to work for."

I think they are thankful. They have the best management and the pilots are the highest paid, what more could you ask for.

I fly with the pilots that you refer to as "spoiled brats" and I can tell you that they are ANYTHING BUT! The vast majority of them are very grateful to be working for such a great company. The process of ratifying a contract is a complicated one with many parties involved. While it's taken some time to come to an agreement, you'd be "hard-pressed" to find another airline that exhibits such civility and cooperation between management and union as does Southwest.

pay was not an issue on this contract. the previous one was almost 15 years old. We had to clean up some of the loopholes in it. We also wanted to have new language on "who" does the flying for SWA...we do not want Regional Aircraft flying our passenger with andother airline doing it. SWA pilots fly SWA passengers...that is waht this contract was about. The pay raises and such is what a healthy company provides foe hard work...pretty obvious.

What civility between the flight attendants and Southwest two contracts ago. It got downright evil with Parker and company at that time.

You are absolutely right. It did get nasty with Parker back then. But, if you remember, Herb stepped in, took the reins and made it right. A testament to "servant leadership", paving the way for the present healthy relationship between union and management.
