Sounds like the execs at HD are starting to get worried that the bottom line profits are about to skyrocket over here. No one would have this much information hand fed to them. Go back to your orange box.
Here's the problem with your take - you just can't dismiss this rumor based on the track record of last FY.

smells I wouldn't argue that this from hd...especially given everything else that has happened. It's been rumored that dm's would go salary for months.

It's all very likely. They are offering golden parachutes to a lot of the guys at corporate who have been around a while to get them off the payroll. They are slashing expenses every way they can think of except the bonuses up top. It's obvious with the extra expense from the Northlake Project rolling out to every store moving forward, they have to do something to keep the stock analyst in their corner. And trust me, as a guy who has seen the Northlake Project come to life, they are spending a small fortune on this stuff.

Straight from Corporate

There are no plans to convert all Sales Specialists or Department Managers to salaried. That's a rumor. These positions will remain as hourly, non-exempt roles. The regulations amd qualifications required to have a salaried, exempt role are very strict and these roles would not meet that criteria

If they are so strict why did they have variable overtime then which was quasi salary/hourly hybrid?

So now they comply with the law but for years they didn't? If it wasn't for the class action would they be saying the same?

You eliminate higher positions and lower positions to create more responsibilities on the middle. Team leads are long gone and there are two less asm's. It isn't that hard to add responsibilities. what can a asm do that a dm can't? be the mod? have a key? I can't picture a group of asm's doing overnights if the place looked rough..but I can see that with dm's since that's what did happen years ago.

Keep in mind they want people to sell but there's no spiffs/sos. Why couldn't they gradually phase it out by lowering the percentages say over a 18 month span.

This apparently was a rumor posted by someone trying to stir the pot. I heard there was a posting by someone from corporate on connections denying any plans to change the current compensation structure.

What a mean joke by a troll on this site.

Maybe you should read the entire conversation especially Corporate Cat's post about his infinite knowledge of everything Lowe's before running your mouth.

You need to reply to post instead of making general statements.
