Employee discounts going next?

I'm not trying to start any rumors but this struck me as possible. I had a corporate employee in my store recently who was shopping SOS product. He had me check employee pricing on it, which isn't uncommon. His comment about why he was shopping for it kinda surprised me. "I'm trying to see what projects I can get done while the discounts are still robust." I didn't ask questions but it got me wondering. Anybody know anything of this coming down soon?

When it rains it pours....unfortunately pretty soon there will not be any discounts in order to maximize profits. They have slowly dwindled to not even worth checking. Buy what you can now.....from someone else of course because Lowe's does not budge with employees, but they manage to give everyone else a heck of a deal.

As of July 1, employee discounts other than standard 10% of stock price will be done away in august 2012. I knew it was coming......there are still more changes to happen....sales specialist positions and hourly rates will be the next to go......cant get their stock price to rise and stay......cut benefits, cut wages, reduce expenses...savings directly to the bottom line. To coin an on message "Lowe's Knows" .....how to screw their employees......

The funny thing is, rather than purchasing something at Lowes without the discount, I will simply purchase the product somewhere else now. Lowes will simply loose my sale all together.

Lowes doesn't usually have the lowest price in town-unless one can find it cheaper and they match it. I won't hassle over price matching-I will find the item I want and purchase it-even if it a competitor.

Aug 01, cost plus will make you pay more in the store you work for, that is if you decide to buy anything . Aug 01 cost plus ceases rewarding employees for loyalty SOS . Shop somewhere else, almost everyone gives 10% just to get the business. When you go out and buy 200 ATG stores and cut all incentive to the ones who have helped you get there, I see no reason they would keep the employee 10% discount card.
