Wrath ? hahahaha
You can mock all you want, but the bottom line is that corporate will not take the fall if the company fails to improve. Cuts are no longer the answer - 1/3 of the RVP's and MD's are gone, they've cut 1700 ASM's, and they can't possibly cut any further in the area of part-timers, or full-time staff. It's doubtful Specialists will be cut, so who does that leave to cut? Nobody.

It isn't about cuts anymore - You have to start thinking in terms of reliving folks of their duties, and it wouldn't shock me one bit to see store salaried management being let go at much higher rates during this upcoming Fiscal Year.

If corporate is truly serious about "change or be left behind", then they MUST hold salaried management, as well as those in the cliques accountable.

The following posted by Popeyelll is RIGHT ON !!!!
"Our people at our store are unhappy because of favoritism between managers and some employees, inconsistent application of the rules, managers not doing what they expect us to do(example-call buttons-we are to get to them as soon as possible and will be told this stuff in morning meetings. A manager can be standing talking to another manager an aisle away and the call button will go off several times and they won't move). They walk around and talk to each other (if the SM is not around you very seldom see them) oblivious to what we are doing. Call them for help and they will say,"can't you do it?".

The call buttons are iffy because frankly it can be faked. Corporate knows it really doesn't matter or count since employees can "test" it out.

For a company that puts cameras around everywhere in the store they really don't know what is going on. Then again cutting LP hours isn't the brightest move in the world.

They really didn't cut their hours, They are no longer salaried and must punch in and out like the rest of us.
They are allowed (scheduled) for 48 hours which is probably more than they ever worked before. I'm sure we will get better with our cameras, most quality retailers have mobile cameras all over and are able to remote view from corporate offices and some even through laptops. I'm sure we sill get there soon.

Agreed! This is the mentality that ruined our company. I hope karma gives him exactly what he deserves.

Here you go again...speaking about things you don't know about because you have NOT worked for Lowe's for years. I know this because you and I are on the same forums. This being said, and if you still worked there, you would know that we have not been allowed to "test" call buttons for years as Corp realized that the buttons were being manipulated. So please stop commenting on things you know nothing about. Thank-you.

Seems like YOU don't know what YOU'RE taking about. We continue to test call buttons routinely and we've been told directly it is to lower the average reporting response time.

I've personally seen call buttons tested now and then..how exactly would corporate find out..or anyone find out?

There is no "all seeing eye" at corporate and that's a bit of the issue. Do you actually think each camera of the 1700+ stores has an individual watching it all day? That would require at least tens of thousands of additional employees that they don't have. Even if they hired a company to do that it would be very pricey.

heck I've seen ladders staged in the generator cage! Nothing like dirt, water and ice buildup in something that needs to fully work in order for it to be safe.

Benefit time is benefit time ,if they pay you, they save nothing.
but--- if they pay you holiday when you still have vacation time left you could lose out. Vacation time is use it or lose it, while Holiday time can be carried into 2012 and paid out in your check. Being paid sick time when your not sick is a big no no and each event goes against your rolling 12 month absense log.

You're pulling our legs right? This is just a funny isn't it? You seriously believe that because corporate says not to do it, all 1700 stores actually follow that requirement? C'mon man, nobody's that naive.

There isn't a store out there that wouldn't take advantage of a shortcut if it meant taking the heat off a report.
