Our dept managers stayed overnight "getting ready for visitors". Why do allow this to happen. They work 24 hours fixing the store so it looks great when some big wig arrives. If the big wig really wanted to see how the store looked they would drop in unannounced. My management would freek out but it would give them a true look at the stores. I guess its just a dog and pony show.

I've been saying that for years!! Do one store a day so that the stores are not calling each other saying the big wigs just left and are heading your way. Come to the store in plain clothes, but also come with 3 or 4 other people and spread out so they aren't able to hide or clean stuff while your at one end of the store.

What are you going to do when 75% of all ops go to 3rd shift hours? From what we are told everything other than the sales will all be on 3rd shift before long, most places already that way.

Then when Corp. starts seeing the added utility expenses (electric, heat, ac) that are not offset by sales, they will flip and reverse course once again.
Lowe's is being run like Obamacare, it's programs and policies are just full of unintended consequences.

Most places meaning most retailers, or most Lowe's?
