Is anyone actually getting people to sign up for these things? I feel stuck between managers who are pressuring us constantly to sign customers and the actual customers who are becoming annoyed at the constant attempts to get them signed up.

Dude, not sure what happened to you, but we don't care. We just work there. And I seriously doubt you were single handedly able to convince 8 people to pull money out of their ass and pay off their cards so the could close the accounts, just because you told them about your ONE bad experience. Go pound sand.

If you are referring to the mylowes card it is not a credit card. We are not doing as well as other stores. It greatly depends upon the consumer and their ability to use technology.

I don't need to know what color I painted a bedroom 5 years ago. I just need to decide what color I want it now. I can do that anywhere.

there's alot more to it. agrred for the narrow minded and the inept there may be no viable reason to have access to a personal file storage program that require no space on you pc.

If Lowes is smart, and they are tracking the items that customers are buying and registering the most, they'll start offering coupons or discounts on those items as an additional incentive to register. I like the concept of MyLowes, just for the simple fact that it is an original idea rather than a reaction to something home depot did first, which has always been the norm.

The MyLowe's card is a great idea, HOWEVER, the execution of it absolutely sucks. To support the damn thing you need a website that is intuitive, ours is not.
Try doing some shopping online. I just did. You can't go from shopping cart back to your previous page, you end up going back to main page, then selecting your department, then category, etc. And nowhere is there an ability to save your shopping cart direct to MyLowe's.

Oh, and why the hell can't Lowe's online pricing and store pricing be so totally not in sync. If there is a difference, at least fess up and notify that it is "internet only".

With all the money Lowe's ripped off from suppliers (spiff), you'd at least think they would hire some IT pro's to at least fix the damn web site.

DON'T even get me started on the the damn add campaign. It takes 3/4th's of the damn thing to tell me we're even talking about Lowe's. Half the time I think we're trying to emulate Target, or so other damn thing.

If you think about it most places that have a card similar to the MyLowes have some sort of incentive attached to it. That is the primary reason that people use the card. I think that in the ads if we had several items that were exclusive to registered MyLowes customers it would help us to be able to set up new accounts.

I think the card is a good thing but it really should have some other sort of name. You don't put the company name on it..it just sounds bad.

I don't think they vetted this name in a focus group at all.

first of all a mylowes card is not a credit card the llc is the credit card, you guys should become leaders and encourage people to apply it helps with the customers loalty the more people that shop at lowes the more money. dont get me wrong i hate calling the 1800 number for a for a code perchase. but it is all worth when you see people come to lowes instead of home depo.

The program is great for those customers that are interested in tracking their purchases. But most of the customers arent interested in the program regardless of the benefits. The problem I notice is the program is being soled to customers at the checkouts and this frustrates customers who need a quick checkout. Employees feel so much pressure to see credit, EPPS and now mylowes at the checkouts. This is difficult when most stores only have one or two cashiers on the front line during peak selling times. The company is still very antiquated with technology and i would assume the benefits will improve as future technological expansion occurs in the company.

The company needs to release a script for mylowes, seriously, like months ago. I absolutely hate walking by the front end and hearing, "would you like to sign up for a mylowes card? It's a way to track your purchases." How big brother does that sound? It doesn't tell the customer anything that benefits them, and when a cashier tries to explain, it end up a rambling incomprehensible mess, because the cashiers have no idea what they're talking about. They're just repeating what they've heard other cashiers say whenever they see one of us walk by. They need a company wide one sentence opening with a three sentence followup that everyone can use.

The company did roll out scripts at the very beginning, but they are not very good. Checkout the MyLowes connections site, one line ice breaker blog. Great ideas that don't use the words "card" or "record"or "track".

It sounds like all of you work for Lowes. I found this thread because I was hoping to find a feature like this for Home Depot which is much closer to my house. For anybody that needs to track purchases for a business, a rental, or any other reason where purchases must be linked to purpose, this is a fantastic idea. It is usefull enough to me that given a choice, I will always make my purchases (and returns) at Lowes as opposed to Home Depot.

MyLowes is excellent for any purchase that has a warranty. Keeping track of a piece of paper for 5+ years is hard to do for many people. Almost all of our vendors require a receipt for any type of service. Many departments don't really benefit from mylowes at all outside of the paperless returns though.
