Corporate Greed Profile: Lowes CEO, Robert A. Niblock

THE HUMANITY!!!!!

In the bizarre world of corporate greed and selfishness that has come to define our times, Robert Niblock saw his income go UP 11% at the same time Lowe's income fell by 22% and our economy teters on the brink of a depression.

The top brass at Lowes were fully aware that 2008 would be a disaster so they decided to base their pay on easily achievable low-ball targets.

$6.6 million AND a private Jet Mr. Niblock made $6.6 Million Dollars last year while employees were laid off and their stock price fell through the floor. To add insult to injury, private Jets are mandated in his contract for safety, health and security reasons. Just like the Auto Industry, Lowes has yet to figure out that its executives can fly first class at a fraction of the price and save thousands of jobs a year for hard working people who are the back-bone of the company.

Oh..and lowes isnt going anywhere.if you turn on the news youll see that for the last few years,all companies are suffering.i would rather lose part of my pay than all of it

I'm sure Lowes will suffer but only for a short time. After everyone that works there now move on to other jobs people who know no better will fill our shoes and get paid less.

A Proxy battle is brewing - some folks actually want the price of stock to increase and cutting the seniority and experience from the sales force is not really a recipe for increased sales. Niblock will get fired and end up with over $200 million for running the company into the ground. The remaining village idiots will continue to get stock, bonuses and keep their palaces on Lake Norman. They have lost their brand and have no idea how to sell shinola

thank Robert Niblock, One he is uses company buy back stock to spend bills of Lowes Money in Australia, They Took away commissions to hire more part time worker at a less wage as well. Your Job is in hot water they expected this to happen to fire full time workers. Lowes board needs to focus on Home land jobs not building a risky market in Australia. This is not an OIL Company Robert. Iphone is a waste of time. U have to utilize and mold a consumers needs, Make the phone useful by having it check out customers on the floor, You want the future to have meaning then change how people shop. Other then that your wasting peoples money, time and pissing off good employee's. One other thing if you have any stock in lowes sell at $27, stock is inflated from a buy back. The market as a whole is over prices by 3000 points, it will roll back to 9,000 soon and lowes stock will be around 9.70 a share. I would not touch lowes stock with a candy cane.

I, for one, don't want to see Robert Niblock get 1/2 of his bonus, or even take a mere 30% salary cut..I want to see our dear leader get bumped down to what they expect me to feed my family on. I want him to try to pay his bills every month, pay for a kid in college (no financial aid i might add, im paying it all!)and manage to do it all on what they expect me to do it on, thats what I want to see.
Whats the future of Lowe's? Sim[ple....total ruination..2 years or less this will all be over, the doors will be closed and only birds and crickets will in habit the places we all used to make our living, the places where we have fond memories of time with friends, the places we used to be proud to say we worked....2 years or less this nightmare will end with the final shot to the head of this company, and while the top excs have their gold parachutes and millions saved to fall back on, we will once agani be left out in the cold. I'm afarid I can and wont wait for that time. My goal is to be gone in the next month, if at all possible. I wont stay and watch it die, I wont stay and be tossed out one day. I wont stay.

I hope WE Will pay my bills, mortgage etc. But I know it wont. What a shame, this was a great company to work for but now its all about bounuses for the upper mgt, diamonds in their rings,. Well if it wasn't for us little folks that work our asses off and wait on the customers and take care of their needs, you big wigs wouldn't have your bounuses, diamonds in your rings. Remember who got that stuff for you.. And you to Nitblock.. Thanks for NOTHING... I am sure you don't have to worry about your house going into foreclosure.. Do you? But us little folks do..

Look, you people are missing the point. This company is a joke and run like one. I give the bare minimum assistance to customers. I spend most of the day bouncing back and forth from the break room and trying to find a computer that works to train on. This is my day along with getting carts if the weather is nice. (but really its to dump the merchandise in my coat. Take 30% or 40% of my pay. Im covered. thx robert

then go back to school and get a better job and quit bitching. they dont have to give us ssei bonuses and holiday payouts and 2 weeks vacation, they choose to. if you can't live off of 10/hour then go get a better job. Call it corporate greed' but you don't have to put up with all the bullshit he goes through, like his employees going on threads and talking shit like little bitches.

A morgage? Mortgage. I'm sorry but even in the south that is low to raise a kid and have a MORTgage.

They might not have to "give" bonuses but from the consumer and investor side they are failing. It isn't the employees fault as generally they only can do what they are told. It is regular ass retail.

As the economy picks up what specifically is going to attract people to work at lowes?

From the consumer what specific reasons are there to shop there? Prices are higher, selection is lower and hours aren't 24/7 (they tested it in florida and it didn't work)

From the investor there are other retailers doing much better. Tractor supply and nordstrom come to mind.

it is natural to cut things when it is slow but hd already structured its debt years ago. If hd is ford then lowes is GM...but congress will never give Niblock a bailout.

He and his golden parachute landed in the Lake Norman area with his ill-gotten booty from West Virginia students. Or Google MSU and the Register Herald in Beckley, WVA. Bill White is the same as Polk and he is currently running the `Mooresville Campus.' Buyer beware! Not all educational institutions are fully accredited and MSU is under a show cause order as to why they should even be in business after June 2012. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL for your own benefit and as a informed consumer. They are in the process of becoming a `online school' but are unable to maintain the most basic accreditations.

This has nothing to do with how you manage your money especially when you already make below the average salary, there is no room for a decrease in salary. In a sense I think that's pretty amazing to stay afloat on so little. I would like to see Niblock survive that much. Plus Chris you live in the south the housing there is cheap I'm pretty sure anyone making 10 or less could live there, but the rest of us who live in inflated markets this can seem to be a daunting task, so please have some respect plus were not the enemy corporate is, so don't forget that.

You may live on 10.00, however, what these people are talking about is a career. They self educated themselves, worked hard..on cement floors, building kitchen, countertops etc. I don't think that is the work you do...probably more of a cashier or office help. You cannot design a kitchen for someone from top to bottom and neither can Niblock CEO nor Managers..........That is why that got paid a commission...so dumbasses like you keep the $10.00 an hour job..stay there!

The point you are missing, A$$hole, is that Lowe's took pay away. This isn't a case of people buying $250,000.00 homes on low wages, these are people who's pay was cut, so they cannot afford the lives they have built quite comfortably. With the extra pay, these people were NOT living above their (not there) means. There is no way in hell that you are raising a child and paying a mortgage on less than 10 bucks an hour. We aren't fools.
