It's the Northlake project.
Originally had many phases.
1. Returns and cash wraps
2. Paint dept.
3. Plumb. dept.
4. cart start and Mowers-(canceled real early)
Money and economy are delaying everything but #1

Some of it gets more compliant with state laws. In some states the terms of sale *surprise* must be laid out by a selling/service area. Before that was just by returns and no one realistically is going to take product around to returns just to read the terms of sale.

Lowe's has come to the realization that both customers and associates need to have a unique experience within Lowe's. Northlake is one of the many ways this begins. They want to make a customers expeirence seamless and know that we care about them and the investment they are making no matter how small. They also want associates to have a seamless experience so they can turn and provide that for the customer. Northlake is merchandising at its best. Adapting to the way customers shop these days and will shop in the future. The one thing you will always be able to depend on is change, so hang on for the ride!!!!!

If you are doing the northlake transition it is to make room for drop zones. These are promotional sales areas and change about every 2-3 months. For instance back to school items or grilling pods etc. customer service and returns become the same area. It is to make the best use of all available space.
