I haven't been called out too many times in my life but fair is fair. nedm - I owe you an apology. I dislike giving excuses or hearing them so I'll offer none."you spend an inordinate amount of time on your laptop"
You assume that all computers are at home or that this is the 1990's. The internet is everywhere. Mcdonalds, starbucks...heck even lowes
"drink girly drinks at Starbucks"
Half true. I drink coffee black. I don't go for the fat filled stuff. It's pretty damn strong. Try some sumatra.
"drive a Prious or electric car. Humor me.....am I close?"
A compact car but I get decent milage. There's no reason for me to get a hybrid since it runs and it wouldn't be cost effective.
Ft Wayne eh. Maybe Hoosers is your favorite film. Most of your economy there is governmental based. GM is government owned and nearly broke again, the university system and defense contractors.
I'd assume you work at a Do It Best or maybe a Menards now You don't see the depot type. For all I know you could be a okie from the Grapes of Wrath.
Sometimes it is funny to hear people make assumptions about different areas of the country. We make a fair amount of the guns in the country (springfield), healthcare (we have most of the specialists), train much of the military (west point) and pay much of the taxes for the country (especially NJ),
It is nice to see that you have your defenders, in addition to those who pounce on you. While I disagree with many things you post, you do deserve the same respect that everyone else is entitled too.
To respond to some of the hits on me..,,Haven't been in Indiana too many years so I lay no claim to being a Hoosier. However, it was a good movie. I'm most certainly gainfully employed and have been since my early teens.
As to the PC world....I do indeed hate it but my feelings aren't related to how I manage people. There may be people I dislike or disagree with or don't share my morale values with, but in a work setting, they'll never know because I keep those things to myself. I am someone who doesn't believe that giving everyone a trophy for competing benefits that person. I believe that people need to experience failure, as well as competition. I believe that that is how people grow. and adapt to life's challenges.
Anyway ...nedm again, my apologies..
