The article in the Galveston Daily News states they would have parking across from the hotel and carnival area. You can bet Tillman will hit your pocket for parking.......$$$$

Anyone can see that the flagship is in such poor condition that it will be a miracle to bring it back from the dead. Keep in mind that the ultimate goal is to bring a casino to the Flagship. It will take tens of millions of Fertitta-bucks and years to make the repairs caused by Ike and the neglect of the previous owners. He should get a little payback for his investment. Otherwise, he would just let it sit and rot or tear it down completely.
In my opinion, this is the lesser of two evils.
In addition, if a casino goes in, it will generate taxes for the city. The local housing surrounding it will increase in value and become more profitable for weekend rentals, even in the winter months. It will provide some jobs (mostly low paying) and create some revenue for the other local businesses.
It will be noisy, but I doubt not as annoying as all of those Harley Davidsons or the Kappa Beach Party.
So, what would you rather have; a little noise or no Flagship at all?
