A HUGE error!!!! The restaurants in these casinos are TOTALLY different from what gaming lovers want. They DEMAND quick, mod priced food and huge variety i:e Buffets.

Every mistake in the book is being made!!!

A few words about the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, NV. As an employee there I can honestly say to tell your viewers to stay away. Currently there is no pool and most likely won�t be until late September. We are told not to mention this fact to the customers unless they ask. We currently also have no sports book although rumor they want to make money off the upcoming football so they might squeeze a temporary one inside the Chinese restaurant. The old buffet is in shambles and the new location won�t be ready until late August, if then. The service and quality of their �Carson Street Caf�(a long time favorite) has taken a nose dive with a mean spirited staff due in part by the fact that the current General Manager there has no experience as a restaurant manager and was a waiter less than a year ago. So much for hospitality professionals in Las Vegas. He also manages the Chinese restaurant too so be careful. As an employee we are told to lie to the customers about almost everything.
I have seen customer comment cards thrown in the trash. I have heard managers describe employees as children and customers as idiots. There is a prevailing attitude of adversity towards the customers. A vice president has told me more than once that the way you get back at a server it to slam them with a lot of tables so they can�t keep up. When I say �Are you suggesting that we use customers as weapons against employees� his attitude is always that there will always be more customers. In my 27 years in the hospitality business I have always leaned that the customer is the most valuable asset. This is absolutely not true at the Nugget. With Landry�s having taking over most of the management staff seems to spend most of their time covering their own butts and trying to make themselves look good instead of with customer care. I have seen my boss take a customer with a real problem and �bully� them, making them feel responsible. My own boss has asked me to out and out lie regarding other employee simply because he has a personal problem with them. When I went to the human resource department telling them I couldn�t lie about the employee their reaction was to have me suspended for three day on vague accusations that happened over a month before. This is managing people? This �screw you� attitude towards their employees and guest is unbelievable. The executive end of the company is not interested in supporting it�s employees and giving service to it�s customers. When something goes wrong no one accepts responsibility but rather is quick to point the finger at somewhere else. If your viewers think of Vegas being a happy exciting place to be tell them to stay away from the Nugget! They will only spend a lot of money for no pool, no sports book, and an attitude that is the worse in Vegas! As for me, I care 100% about the customer�s satisfaction and realize the Nugget is the wrong place for someone like me to be, So after writing this I think its time to write my two week notice.
