We've been hearing that Snyders/Lance will be leaving the area and taking the business out of the country...if fact, we need to boycott and not buy their products...another business and jobs lost...
bye-bye good buy

I don't like the taste of Lance crackers. If the Snyder's products begin to take on the flavor of Lance -- the pretzels and chips I used to love will be gone for good. What a shame. Hanover had a good thing there.

If you all think this is going to be good for Hanover, just wait for the other shoe to fall. It will fall. Like when the wharehime family sold Farmers Bank. I believe people in Hanover will lose their jobs. Just like all the people that lost their jobs when the Bank was taken over. All of the past employees at Farmers can attest to that. When they merged with Dauphin Deposit Bank, everyone was told that no jobs will be lost. I was lucky, I got out before the merger took place. I do pray that what they are saying about not losing jobs is correct, but I really doubt it. I do wish the best for the people that built up Snyder's and hope that what they say is correct. To Lance management, try to keep your word. There are good people working there that need these jobs.

You are comparing apples and oranges. These are manufacturing jobs, not a bunch of pencil pushers.

Hanover still has a good thing. The Hanover manufacturing jobs are going to stay. Snyder's products will continue and production may even increase with the added distribution network that Lance brings. Relax, people. There have always been multiple snack food companies in Hanover and both Snyder's and Utz will continue. And let's not forget Martin's in Thomasville. Support local manufacturers. Buy their products and not Texas based Frito Lay. Dallas Texas isn't supporting our local economy. Keep the jobs in Hanover by purchasing local products!

Just because Frito Lay is a Texas based company they do have a manufacturing plant in York County.
