The case involves a synthetic estrogen known as DES, diethylstilbestrol, which was prescribed to millions of pregnant women between the late 1930s and early 1970s to prevent miscarriages, premature births and other problems.

This is interesting because it can give light to those who may have taken the drugs and developed complications.

I feel for the women, but I'm assuming they had genetic studies on their family done. Coincidence happens, and that's why the courts should demand rigorous research. I am not aware of any research supporting their claim, and I've paid close attention to the research.
I'm not defending DES, but I'm not aware of it causing *breast* cancer.

I have also read about the synthetic estrogen being used among pregnant women while I was browsing online and at http://www.descancerlawsuit.com/ . I guess this is one of the biggest problems related to the use of hormones as the side effects may span up until the third generation.
