How Zyprexa makes you Fat

Study out on Eli Lilly Zyprexa causing diabetes

Anti-Psychotic Drugs (Zyprexa) Change Metabolism

“Based on these findings we concluded that male rats treated with olanzapine experienced an early disruption of energy metabolism.

In the study 18 male rats were randomly assigned to one of three groups:(1) those receiving the conventional antipsychotic drug haloperidol (HA); (2) those receiving the atypical antipsychotic drug olanzapine (OL); or (3) the control (CO) group which did not receive either drug.

The medicines were given in food for a period of six weeks. Female rats were excluded to eliminate bias in the study since antipsychotic-induced weight gain in female rodents is likely related to an interaction of the drugs with estrogens.

Testing after four weeks found that the concentration of blood sugar (as glucose) was higher in OL rats (0.87 g/l) than in CO rats (0.75 g/l) and the levels increased more rapidly after a glucose meal. Testing six weeks later found fasting blood sugar levels continued to rise in OL rats (1.46 g/l vs. 1.25 g/l in CO rats) while the level of lipids (fats) in the blood was similar for both groups.
Although there was no difference in body weight gain or food intake, the proportion of fat stored in the abdominal cavity was higher in OL rats (1.63%) vs. CO rats (1.44%).

The HA rats did not vary in any way with the control group at any time. They exhibited a lower blood sugar level after a glucose meal and a lower proportion of intraabdominal fat store (1.44%) than OL rats.

Senior study author Dominique Hermier said,“Based on these findings we concluded that male rats treated with olanzapine (Zyprexa) experienced an early disruption of energy metabolism. This was a result of the fat tissue we observed and the impairment in blood sugar regulation which are both associated with metabolic syndrome and subsequent risk of diabetes.”

Zyprexa,as well as the other atypical antipsychotics, are being prescribed for children, even though this is an unapproved, off-label use. Eli Lilly has been charged in allegedly pushing the drug for children in more than one state.

A report by Dr. Cooper at Vanderbilt University states that 2.5 million children are now taking atypical antipsychotics. Over half are being given them for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Perhaps it is statistics like these that caused the FDA to finally require warnings on the labels of the ADHD drugs.

The use of atypical antipsychotics for children should be banned.

I agree with Irira Rikki. When are we going to be brave enough to challenge all the 'safe' views and ways of keeping people's souls and personalities suppressed, just so mental (I repeat they are mental) health workers are kept in a job. They are too scared themselves to challenge their own system for fear of losing out on a job. But a job with no heart! How can you sleep at night Monash Mental Health System Staff? You know Zyprexia is killing people in other lands. Google it on the internet; yet you keep on feeding this poison to your experimental sufferers as well as taking over their lives. Oh, for the return of One who could heal or cast out a devil at the touch of a hand or a kind smile. Well just remember you torturers of innocent confused minds, you are being watched and your day will come!!!!

Well done Theresa. Thank you for your courage and the message of 'walking in balance' because our son is certainly wobbly due to the disasterous effects of this killer drug.

Keep this post alive for it is one of the big shams of the modern world this sort of mind and body pollution created by the 'on the run' maker, Eli Lilly should still be allowed to ruin lives. Forget your environmental fears and concentrate on those closer to home and more urgent 'in the now', than what might happen if the sun gets to hot. Hope it fries the maker of Zyprexia as he has contributed to the frying of other helpless, good, pure, clean souls understood by Jesus, but not our dumb mental health. Easy way out to control a rebellios or active thinking mind that goes beyond the boring safe norm and fights systems of injustice like this.'Come quickly' Jesus, as promosed in Revelation and hurl this medicine down the throats of its makers and let it be their hell!!!

LETTER TO THE SUNDAY AGE 24-1-2010
Australia Day 1996
A letter written to Human Rights re Monash Medical Center's Mental System, Clayton, Vic. who in turn contacted the then Medical Director re patient's wrong diagnosis and treatment. Once confronted by Human Rights, the patient's Medical Report was released with almost 70% of huge file 'Black-Outs'.

Now Australia Day 2010 - and Monash will not release this patient - from 'house arrest' conditions. Daily, he is dosed and force fed drugs which are killing him. Wrong diagnosis and long term use of the wrong treatments - Zyprexia + anti-dote + anti-depressant - he suffers irreversible damage, then blamed for his condition. One Doctor confirmed Zypexia has created Side Effects of Parkinson's Disease and Schizophrenia not present before nervous/physical exhaustion brake down. Healthy Sole Dad now a skeleton of former self.

CHECK THIS OUT!

http://psychrights.org/articles/LevineLillyan ...

More than one journalist has uncovered corrupt connections between the Bush Family, psychiatry, and Eli Lilly & Company, the giant pharmaceutical corporation

In the United States in 2003, Zyprexa grossed $2.63 billion, 70 percent of that attributable to government agencies, mostly Medicaid.

Historically, the exposure of any single Lilly machination—though sometimes disrupting it—has not weakened the Bush-psychiatry-Lilly relationship. In the last decade, some of the more widely reported Eli Lilly intrigues include:

Influencing the Homeland Security Act to protect itself from lawsuits
Accessing confidential patient records for a Prozac sample mailing
Rigging the Wesbecker Prozac-violence trial
A sample of those who have been on the Eli Lilly payroll includes:

Former President George Herbert Walker Bush (one-time member of the Eli Lilly board of directors)
Former CEO of Enron, Ken Lay (one-time member of the Eli Lilly board of directors)
George W. Bush’s former director of Management and Budget, Mitch Daniels (a former Eli Lilly vice president)
George W. Bush’s Homeland Security Advisory Council member, Sidney Taurel (current CEO of Eli Lilly)
The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (a recipient of Eli Lilly funding)

The Pharmafia now does its safety teasting on consumers. Any wonders why so many are maimed and killed?. Government-Pharmafia's explanation? A COINCIDENCE. They caused the autism epidemic but have done a masterful job of conning and coverup. They are extremely clevers criminals who get away with causing hundreds of thousands of deaths. MERCK'S VIOXX killed and estimated 55,000-250,000 consumers, but MERCK owners and employees are not in prison and have never faced criminal charges. Law enforcement can't touch these killers.

I took Klonopin and Paxil for 15 years to treat my anxiety disorder. I had to detox from the Klonopin this past spring. I got off the Klonopin and switched my Paxil to Lexapro (sex side effect issue). I am also a recovering alcoholic. My doctor did not want me on Benzo's anymore (says it increased alcohol cravings). I stayed on Lexapro only for 9 months, but my anxiety came back strong on just the Lexapro alone. I almost resorted to taking Xanax before I switched doctors. My new doc gave Zyprexa from http://z-olanzapine.com a chance. I am on my 7th day and I haven't felt this "normal" in 5 years. I take 5mgs at night and it has ended the "chatter" in my head, and removed my anxiety. Great medicine so far.
