Listen to Dave, he's a strong man of God. A testament of God's power.

Shame on YOU for judging someone - judge not lest you not be judged!

You obviously don't know Dave very well. He has shown nothing but remorse for what he has done. He never meant to hurt anyone or the families. You try dealing with the consequences of a decision like that and see what people say about you that aren't true. It is a trajic story and one to learn from not cast blame.

I am a close friend of Dave and KNOW for a fact how terrible he feels about that decision - IT IS CALLED INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER FOR A REASON - he didn't plan on doing this!!!! Oh and let's talk about the blood alcohol and cocaine levels in the st. louis kids that night...ALL 4 OF THEM MADE A BAD DECISION THAT NIGHT - dave lived and has been through hell and back! tell me no one that has written negative stuff about dave has ever drank and drove - NEVER???? I know I have, but after hearing Dave's story - I NEVER WILL AGAIN and I know many many people who have heard dave speak who have chosen to stay safe and have a plan rather than risk hurting themselves or others...yes was tragic, but so much good has come out of it - why can't you haters just let it go?!? And you ALLISON - have you NEVER made a mistake in your life???? Never done something that you regret??? NEVER??? And Bridget - when did you ever talk with Dave yourself? Did you ever ask him yourself how he feels about that night? I doubt it - cause you would know the TRUTH!!!!

I just miss Nick and Erica both.About this time of year it really seems to get to me. Nick was one of the closest friends I had. Yes, everyone makes bad decisions and the whole thing was tragic. I have been trying for closure on this for 17 years and just cannot seem to let it go. I think it's great that Dave has this new life of his, wife and kids. I understand how difficult it must have been for him. I will never forget that night. I was supposed to be with Nick but for some reason I did not go with them. Words cannot describe what the result of that night has done to me over the years. I sent David a post on twitter with the mention of that date here recently, it took that long to finally bring myself to say something, his name has been solidified into my memory since that early morning when I got the news. My thoughts were that maybe he would respond, acknowledge how much it had affected him, tell me he knows how I feel, who knows, maybe I would have got the chance to speak with him about it knowing he is working on or is now a pastor. I honestly think if any one of those events happened that I just may be able to finally let it go in my heart and heal. Instead I was blocked by him. I'm happy that he has a good life. I am. I would give anything to have my friend here today. It is a feeling that most will never know. David knows that feeling. This is the most I have ever spoke of that night in over a decade and the only thing I know is that I still cannot heal and get over it. It is a terrible feeling. Some days I want more than anything is to be able to let go of all the sadness, anger, emptiness.
