Visited my local Kohls yesterday to purchase some mens sandals and underwear. They always "seem" to have great sales. There were 55% off signs, 30-60% off, etc everywhere and I was excited to find a good deal. When I got to the underwear I noticed 2 stickers with prices, one on top of the other; so curious to see what I was really saving I pulled back the top sticker, only to reveal that the new price was jacked up $5.00 from the MSRP! A bit irritated, I continued shopping through the store. To my dissappointment I found SEVERAL items all through the store that was marked up at least $5.00 from the original price, along with the SALE sign attached; LOSERS! VERY IRRITATING, especially during these economic times!!!

Whenever you go to the check out tell them about the price change, Kohls is a very good store to go to now with the sales and such. We want to make sure that you have a good shopping experience and always come back happy. I'm sure if you brought it up to someone they would given you orginal price on it and the comment to theif not sure what problem you have but God bless you :)

they do that because if they get new merchandise in and its a higher price they adjust ALL of the product..doesnt seem fair I know but thats why you get those price changes

No you knuckleheads... Those prices are increased because of the VENDORS. Brands like Hanes and Nike tell companies like Kohl's, Target, Macy's, etc. that the price of their raw materials are getting more expensive, so they need to charge more for the product to continue to meet the demand of the customer. The retailer then follows suit and increased their price to match. If you were getting 50% off of some T-shirts at 29.99 you'll be getting 50% off when the sticker changes the price to 34.99. The vendor makes $5 dollars more, the retailer only makes half of that. The retailer is actually the victim....

Good answer MrMike...except for the "knuckleheads" part!

Seems like you have some knowledge regarding retail, as do I. But looking at it from the consumer point of view, I can see how they jump to their conclusion.

To prove your point, if Kohl's wanted to make a few extra bucks on their sales, they would have decreased their percent off from 50% to 45%. Simple as that! They wouldn't have used precious manhours to have an employee mark up every item.
