I currently am a Kohls associate and must say that if jobs around where i live werent so hard to find i would quit. Although many employees may love thier jobs at Kohls, i can honestly say that most of the people at mine do not. We have managers who don't believe in confidentiality, or in working with student schedules, if you request a day off and they schedule you anyways and you ask why, they find a reason to blame you, and if you have to call off because of a mistake they made they write you up. We have a manager who thinks those of us who work at P.O.S (register) don't have real jobs and is constantly nasty to the employees whether we are on or off the clock and have employees dropping like flies. The first three months that i worked there it was nice, the people were friendly and the managers were easy to get along with, however by now those of us who are still under a year with them have learned that our managers are a lot like the gossipy catty women we went to high school with. I was just wondering if any other kohls employees have this problem or if the one i work for is an isolated incident? I understand that many work places are hard but the store i work for is just getting completely out of hand!! The people i work with are amazing but the people i work for are just rude and mean, our general manager is an awesome guy but the rest are just jerks!

I feel the same way about the Kohls I work at. We work our butts off to please corporate and still are treated horrible. We are doing thier dirty work. They don't have to clean up pee & poop in the fitting rooms when there wonderful customers don't have the decency to ask for directions to the restroom. Corp beats us down about raising out customer score when they won't fix 5 of our AC units....like that will help our customer service score. I'm giving my 2 weeks notice today! After 2 years of their bull I've got a life to live other than Kohls!

It's pretty much exactly the same at the Kohl's I worked at too. It's literally so much like high school 2.0 it's sad.

I work at kohls and I hate it! I am constantly getting screwed over by management!!! My
Supervisor went on vacation and when she came
Back wrote a yes you did for everyone in shoes but me... One woman didn't even work in shows while my supervisor was gone!!! And people get
Yes you dids for stuff I do all the time that goes unnoticed. I'm also constantly covering my department and home store for hours at a time because they refuse to cover for someone who calls off!!!! Not to mention management cut my hours so they could work in my department to keep their 40 hours. And what's with management being the only full time employees in my store!? We don't even have the option to be full time. Hate this store so much!!!! I hate bugging people while they are shopping just to get their email or hound them to open a charge card!

Sooo true ! I had to call in with a medical issue I was having and I came to work the next day and the manager had told everyone! It was not a bad issue but either way I was so embairessed and was annoyed nectar I kept getting asked about it. Also all of the employees talk smack about each other but than try to be nice to your face... I definately didn't sign up to be in the next sequel to mean girls.

How many call offs are you allowed? I've had to do it twice already because everyone refused to cover me, and I need to do it again in two days and I've only worked there for just over a month...

I have not really enjoyed my experience there, but I do not feel it's been as bad as some of the others. I do have a fantastic supervisor. He is wonderfully helpful, anxious to make an associates job easier, if he can.
While the drama that happens between associates is very much like high school, the amount of team work they are able to produce is amazing. It's Very rare for anyone to ask for anything and not be answered within five seconds.
I would suggest Kohls rethink their orientation training, have the new hires do more hands on and less sitting in front of a computer watching stupid videos that no one remembers anyways. The job can only be learned by doing it. Hours upon hours of eLearning isn't going to cut it.
I also wish Kohls would provide a way to look at their schedule online. It would make things so much easier for the associates, and it would probably make it easier to change things that way as well.
The job is a little too high pressure for the wages you earn. And sometimes the expectations are a little too high. The other day, I was the only associate covering both misses and juniors and was expected to have both fully recovered and the floor completed by close. Obviously that didn't happen. I think they sometimes forget that more than one person can be required for a department. As long as you're not working to close though, it can be easier.
It's not the worst job if you're out of work. But as I got another job, I will be putting in my two weeks notice today.

its my far one of the worst companies I worked for and it was my first job. You are overworked and underpayed especially if you are a sale associate because recovery and 500 are a nightmare especially since Kohl's never staffs enough people to help out. You are basically doing more than you are hired to do. Customers can be slobs at time I know I came across a few slobs myself. They walk all over you and you are basically a doormat for them. Thievery was so bad I lost count how many time cop car pulled up in front of the store because they caught somebody. The hour and schedule was atrocious sometimes you won't be scheduled for entire week not only that you get those shift where you close than open the next day just plain awful. I hated doing freight because sometimes we get endless freight and without no help which is why its never done in one day. I'm so glad that I quit and didn't bother to put my two week notice this job was affecting my health and ever since I quit nothing hurts or itches anymore due to the endless standing and all of the allegories that are in the store like dust.

I work at kohls as well. My experience is the exact same. My store manager is extremely rude. She talks to all of us with complete disrespect constantly putting her finger in our faces. Throwing items on the ground and walking away leaving us to clean it up after. I'm going to put my 2 weeks notice in today. I'm tired of dealing with all the drama.

I have to say I like my job at Kohls. The pay stinks but.I work with awesome people. Management.is ok I hate the pressure on getting people to open credit cards. I am not a kid, candy, denim or sneaker passes just doesn't do it for me. ( I am 62). My biggest complaint is Kohls cash. People don't understand it's a coupon just like a grocery store coupon. They cry, whine and throw tantrums when they lose it, or if they use it don't get it back. Change the name don't use Kohls cash...

I work at kohls parttime at the forked river location and last friday was a good day because my manager that works at night name Danelle is very helpful and has patience with the new employees, i can't say much about the other managers because they just leave me with a bad taste in my mouth ,it is sad that some managers take there job to seriously and think that they run the intire company and when things go wrong and some few managers r at fault they first write u up to make themselves look better ,but now i know some of the management only get paid ten dollars a hour qezz i work as a CNA and i get 17dollars a hour .What a shame management only gets paid chumb change and some not all r a punch

But i enjoy working at kohls some of the employee r very helpful and nice but i just dont agree with two managers i work with treat me very unfairly because i was not trained properly and i made a error and the two managers quickly blam me for the mistake ,which i think if the two managers did there job and gave me the proper training i would never had made that error. ...But all i could. Do is ask many questions and learn clumb up the ladder and teach myself. ..

Starting orientation tonight. From all of the awful things I read about working for Kohl's, I MUST say... I REALLY am wondering if I made the right decision on working for Kohl's? May I should JUST not go in tonight...

This is why I HATE retail....you get fired if you don't meet your quota in getting credit card apps, and you even get fired if you don't meet your sales goal even after working a few months. I'm SERIOUSLY reconsidring NOT going to orientation tonight!! Kohl's has DEFINITELY left a bad taste in my mouth!!!

If you guys feel like you made the right choice your wrong choice you can simply check this website from current or former employee that have worked for this company.
http://www.jobbite.com/reviews/kohls
based on what I read it turns out it terrible company that still pay less Walmart, Target,Ross, Marshall, and Tj maxx.
Also its seem like it a credit card company that tied to your hours.

Yeah that is a good website I use it all the time before I take any job I like to know from former and current employee what it likes working there, but it seems that they have censored some review with this new website because kohl's had over 100 review and they cut it down to 63.hmmmm
Do I sense censorship and the company probably informed jobbite to take down the rest of review I wonder why. To bad webarchive saved it though
https://web.archive.org/web/20150327081421/ht...

The latest reviews are heartbreaking :(

If you plan to take this job for seasonal you may want to have a second thought about it???

jesus christ and I though the 100 hour marathon was bad idea, but damn I didn't think they would go past that 170 hours being open that is insanity. I'm curious how they are going to pull this off considering that employees hour are cap and they are severely understaffed.
