"StaberDearth," you have a point, there! They feel so strongly about labels, let THEM pay the bill. My own personal opinion; I can't see where labels will make any difference whatsoever; like cigarettes, if people are going to buy the things, they're not going to pay much attention to a warning label, right? And if we're going to label potential food hazards, what about warning labels that if you consume lettuce, green onions, or jalepeno peppers you could get salmonella? Or "eating excessive amounts of beans may cause you to release gas and harm other peoples' personal environments and the methane may contribute to global warming?" I respect a persons' right to eat meat or not, but all of these warnings we hear about food, air, etc., every day of the week are getting tiresome. We're not going to get out of this world alive, anyhow.(and, no, before anyone makes a comment, I'm not a big fan of hot dogs; maybe have one at a summer picnic, but that's about it; I just hate all of these "food nannies"!)

What's safe to eat anymore? One week someone will claim that something is really good for you and then next week it comes out that it's really bad for you.

"Vegans complaining about hot dogs is like the Amish complaining about gas prices," said Susan Thatcher of Irvine.

Love that analogy!

Vegans are heretics who have spurned one of God's gifts to man.

God gave animals unto man, and it's not good enough for the vegans.

The instances of food-borne illnesses coming from vegetables is rising, so let's see how many labels they "REQUIRE" the government to place on things like Romaine Lettuce, Peanuts, Green Onions, Tomatoes, etc.

In 2006, the food commodities associated with the largest number of illnesses were poultry (21%), leafy vegetables (17%) and fruits or nuts (16%).

If God didn't want us to eat animals, why'd he make them out of meat?

Do these so called "vegans", have jobs? It seems that they are so bored with their own lives that they have to file a lawsuit against companies that make a product that "they" don't believe in eating. Maybe "they" should start eating meat, maybe it would make them happier people.

Meh, there is no god, and vegans may as well start calling their lifestyle a religion if they are getting this zealous.

What the lawsuit claims is that processed meat should have warning labels on them, NOT all meat. I enjoy how even the author of this article is so offended by a group of people looking out for consumer's health that he can't even keep the article focused.

I mean, come on. Who DOESN'T know that hot dogs are bad for you? Even as a child in elementary school I heard all about how it's made from the left-over parts of various animals and mushed into a wiener-shaped package. I don't see how anyone at all can argue with the fact that hot dogs are bad for you. Whenever I ate them growing up, I always had to NOT think about what I was eating so I could enjoy it. Processed almost anything is terrible for you, and it certainly is within your right to consume it if you wish. But you also have the right to information on what you're eating so you can chose to eat something that's going to cause your body harm, or chose not to, and companies who keep that information from you don't deserve your trust or your money.

Moderation in all things...the last I checked, I still had my incisors. Vegans, slaves to the TOFU cartel! The cause of loss of brain mass in the logic centers.
